1979 Mgb 1-owner Gorgeous Low Miles Unrestored Original on 2040-cars

1979 MGB 1-OWNER GORGEOUS LOW MILES UNRESTORED ORIGINAL
This is a 1979 4-Speed MGB
that has been in the same hands since new and kept registered and driven every
year of its life. It is one of the nicest unrestored MGB’s you are likely to
find, it is a time capsule!
Let me go through some of
the reasons this car is amazing. First of all, this car has been lovingly cared
for its whole life. Ever since new it has been properly maintained and kept up.
But consider this, the whole interior of this car is original, the carpets, the
seats, the dashboard, EVERYTHING. And please look at the pictures, the interior
is BEAUTIFUL! I was amazed to even find the cardboard dash under-liners intact
(they cover the bottom of the dash and are missing on most of these cars). The dashboard itself is like new with NO
cracks. The tach takes a few seconds to warm up and then it works fine (typical
of an older gauge).
On the exterior. The paint
on this car is ALL ORIGINAL. There has never been a repair on the body. It has
never been wrecked, or driven in the snow. It has always been garaged! The top
is just a couple years old, as the plastic windows on an original top is bound
to yellow over time. The car also comes with an original tonneau cover in very
nice shape. The chrome trim outside is essentially perfect. The rubber bumpers
have a scratch here and there, but nothing bad. The only noticeable
imperfections on the body are on the RH Front fender: there are two little
dents and there is a little bit of rust on the bottom (not bad, please observe
the pictures). There are a few rust spots under the trunk lid and the doors
(but very few, they are all pictured). The windshield is original and
unscratched, could pass for new.
In the engine compartment
you will find everything in good order. Notice how the paint in the engine
compartment is still original, it has never been resprayed. You will even find
the cardboard cover that protects the engine bay between the engine and the
radiator (which was super-flimsy and is missing on most MGB’s). The emissions
gear has been removed and the original carb has been replaced with a Weber.
Those parts that were removed are available if you want them!
On the bottom side of the
car you will notice everything in good order, there are no rust issues. The
exhaust has been replaced with a header/dual tailpipe Ansa system.
The car runs beautifully
and drives great! The engine starts and idles beautifully and accelerates
strongly. There are no funny engine noises. The engine is finely tuned. The
transmission shifts easily into and out of all gears including on the
downshifts. The suspension is nice and tight and reacts well on the road and in
bumpy roads. The clutch master and slave have been replaced over time and the clutch
action is perfect. The trunk lid has a couple of rusty spots on the inside lip (pictured and not a big deal). But the trunk has no real rust issues. In it you will find a working trunk light and the original tools, jack, and the boot cover frame pieces. The wheels and tires are
just a couple years old and they have PLENTY of miles to give. The original
ROSTYLE wheels with good tires are available if you prefer!
This is a car that is on
the road right now, it needs nothing to pass Massachusetts Inspection and take
you on a road adventure.
