Hi All,
With the help of a friends auto body shop, I was going to restore this 1972 MG MGB to like new condition. Due to a lack of time, I have decided to sell it to go after some other projects. The car has some damage throughout, which I will outline below. However, it DOES run. One of the cylinders does run a bit lean, but it starts right up.
The true mileage is unknown, per the owner he only used it a few hundred miles after it stopped at the 69k it is currently at.
I also have put in two new parts, a Clutch master cylinder and a Brake master cylinder.
Being as up front as possible, please dont be looking for this to be a drive off the lot and across country while enjoying the wind in your hair. The whole care needs work. But it will drive and will start. Just make sure it is purchased with the intention of giving it the love it needs or just parting it out.
I will try to outline the car below. Please see other details after the description.
EXTERIOR
Front End; in good condition, scratches and some dings
Left Side; Front QP good Condition, Rear QP is slightly damaged due to the damage on the back of the car (pictured clearly)
Right Side; Good overall condition
Wheels; ORIGINAL RIMS No spokes missing and minimal oxidation. Mounted with B.F Goodrich Lifesaver 78 Radial Steel tires (CR78-14) with very good tread left.
Trunk; Some damage, but opens and closes with no problems
Rear fender; ok condition, some dents.
Front Fender; very good condition
Roof; One tear drivers side, otherwise good condition.
Rear Mirrors; Right glass shattered left intact, both bodies are good
Headlights; both in great shape
Tailights; right is good left is not... in fact, its gone. Take a look at the pictures, the damage took it out and the original owner replaced it.
INTERIOR
Inner Trunk; good shape no rust through
Seats; Rip on drivers seat, passenger is ok
Back; Dirty but in good shape, battery well is completely intact
Console; Gear box and MG logos completely intact everything else is great.
Cluster; Glass on speedometer is cracked glass on everything else is good.
Missing the plastic piece abode the pedals on the steering column.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT
Radiator; couple small dents but good
No leaks or anything like that, no fluids on the ground after it was parked or driven.
Dirty, but in ok working order overall.
I am keeping this at a friends garage in Linden NJ, this is where you will pick it up after winning the auction. You are more than welcome to ask any and all questions and I will do my best to answer them. Due to the low price I am starting this auction at, I will not be offering any returns and the car will be sold as is. HOWEVER, If it does not start, or there is something I have misrepresented in the listing, we will void the purchase.
Regards,
Dan
