I saw this car under a cover while attending a garage sale in my neighborhood last year. From the shape I could tell what it was so I asked to see it. The lady holding the garage sale explained that her and her husband had bought it brand new, a couple of their daughters had driven it through high school (one of those daughters was at the garage sale with a toddler of her own!), that it had sat in the same spot for about 10 years (while one of their daily drivers sat outside), and that it was their intention to have it restored someday as a family heirloom of sorts. I left my card and asked her to call me if they ever changed their mind about that.

Only a couple months later the woman's husband called and told me they were retiring to Arizona and finally realized they'd probably never get around to restoring it. He asked if I was still interested and, thinking it might make a cool father-son restoration project, I said 'yes'. Unfortunately, my own sons (aged 13 and 15) weren't as interested in cars as I was at their age and the car has now sat around my building virtually untouched. So to make room, I have decided to sell it to someone who may actually do something good with it. I have a Kansas Dealers License so the car has not been retitled, thereby preserving the "one owner" status.

What I loved about it is how complete it is. Everything appears to be "there". I had my younger son start to go through a Victoria British catalog to identify and learn about car parts as well as list out (so as to appreciate) the value of the parts and just a handful of parts hold more value than what this car will sell for whole. I'm talking about seats, steering wheel, gauges, wire wheels, etc. just to name a few. I wrestled with the idea of parting it out but have decided to let it go without selling off any parts.

The former owner did install a new battery to see if he could get it to run. It also has a new top in the trunk. We towed it in, put some fresh gas in it, and with very little effort is was running and we were able to drive it around. I was surprised as I would have thought some hydraulic lines would have failed, etc. but I guess that's one good thing about it being stored inside all this time.

The photos show it with all the dust, etc. it came with. We have not so much as washed it. If you've read this far there must be some interest there so feel free to ask any questions you may have!
