1968 MGB-GT from California. We have owned the car since 1999 and have had it inside ever since. It is a very nice example of a dry, solid western car.
Exterior- The body and floor etc. are very solid. No holes in the body or underside. The paint needs to be buffed and someone at some point years ago painted the chips on the car. If you lightly wet sanded the car and buffed it, it would shine well and remove those marks. There are no signs of visible previous body damage or fill that we see. The rockers, sills, dog legs etc. are all without rot. The tires are cracked and old bias ply and need to be replaced.
Interior- The seats are very dry and cracked and need to be re-done. The headliner needs to be replaced also. The carpets are faded and the dash has one visible crack ahead of the steering wheel. The interior seems to be complete with nothing missing. The removeable headrests are in the back of the car.
Trim- The chrome still shines and all peices are there. I have extra rims for the car and tires, but the tires are all dry rotted.
Driveline- The motor turns and I removed the radiator to flush it an serviced the engine prior to storing it. I am sure at this point the carbs need to be rebuilt in order for it to run. The air cleaners and radiator are in the back of the car. I have never driven the car, just moved it from one spot to the next inside the warehouse.
The car is amazingly straight and solid. It would be an easy fix. The worst thing about the whole car are the front seats being so dry and brittle. This is a minor resto project and please do not think you can drive it home. pre-sale inspections are welcome and questions are encouraged. I have described this item to the best of my ability. Thank you for looking at our auction.
