Here is the story . I purchased 2 1967 mgb gt from my car flipper friend in 2009 who cleared a garage belonging to 'George' who lived in South Berkeley.CA near Peoples park. Real person my other friend knew him and the cars. I can see the old hippie in my mind tooling around South Berkeley up Telegraph ave in the 60's.   Both were not running and were towed in. The White Mgb GT special I am selling has been brought back. The other was broken down into parts. The car had extensive rust mostly in both inner outer rockers and sills. First thing was to get car back on road which was done with new gas tank, lines, fuel pump, clutch slave and wheel cylinders. The hood was replaced with the parted out one which was green and this car was blue . It was a sight in this state as well.  I drove it around replaced waterpump and tires. It has clean current title and registration.Vin # GHD3L103001.You have to like that number. The mgb special was an option in 67 with Les Lester wood wheel, wood shift knob, electronic Laycock Type D overdrive 9 (rare) and white wall tires. Never had wood shift knob and white walls are gone but  it did have the overdrive that worked a little while before going out. I drove it without using the overdrive although I did try to get it to work closely following manual and new solenoid but it was dead. I am a mechanic who does my own work but do not have any body or paint skill so I hired a local professional for the major rust repair. The motor has always been good so it was left in at that point . All glass removed with new seals throughout. New inner outer rockers and sills both sides. New rear panel, valence, front fender. New jack points and some minor floor repair. New good quality paint in Antique white with new exterior trim. It was a hell of alot of work but he didnt quite finish the body perfectly it has waviness on lower rockers and the door gaps are not perfect. Both doors need to be slammed pretty hard to shut. The lower half of the car could be redone. The hood has some rub marks and a chip. There was a small door accident that creased the driver fender and GT special badge. The left  fender has a small dent on top another small mishap. Other imperfections. Wheels need paint. The bumpers are decent a few knicks. The car looks pretty good despite the imperfections but it is not show quality just a nice driver. The interior on these cars are beautiful and    was match ed in blue piping to the existing door panels and back seat which have some wear. The seat covers are vinyl and it has new headliner and carpet kit. New dash pad. Steering wheel is very nice. I have tried to keep the original look with correct parts .Other new parts and work around 2009 include heavy duty springs, shock valves, poly bushings, rear end shimming, replaced kingpins, new matching locks and more.  All parts were sourced from the other 67 mgb gt or new from moss and even 2 more mgb gt's;one which was parted and the other sold after roguing a few more  parts. Kept inside during winter. I have driven it for a few years a few times a month until this May when the overdrive transmission went out like I knew it would due to the wierd noise it made sometimes. Just replaced the transmission with the other standard 4 speed. It was disassembled, cleaned and inspected. Found to have worn layshaft so it was replaced with new shaft and bearing kit. all new seals. New clutch. It is back on the road now working well. The speedo is not working which is probably a cable issue. The idle is hanging up slightly now possibly spring related. The radiator is original and looks damaged but it works fine with no leaks or overheating issues. New hoses. All the spares are included with it 2 rear ends,od transmission with black label in pieces all there, complete disassembled motor which ran although head is shot. 4 additional spoked wheels. Extra hood, Exhaust, carbs, steel dash, doors, rear glass, rear hatch and glass, tons of hardware and small pieces a full truckload. You can take all. Car is reliable always starts and runs no electrical problems all lights work. Drives nice with good ride quality. Fun car. Brakes good no pulling.  New front calipers and lines. Rear shoes good some rear brake grab right at stop very random. Have correct  wheel nuts to replace knock offs. . All receipts over 10,000 from moss alone not including body man no receipt from him it was a cash deal over 5k . My labor = free. I have over 15 k directly into this car I know I won't be getting it back. Downsizing. My loss your gain . 67 mg mgb specials are usually priced higher than this. Pay me and I sign over pink and you drive away it is that simple. No reserve 4500 opening bid.
