The stunning red paint and tons of shiny bits make this a real head turner, but have no fear it's not perfect. So just get in and enjoy the looks but none of the stress. The car starts with confidence as a standard 1600 cc with dual SU150 carbs purrs under the custom bonnet. New parts everywhere - gas tank, fuel pump, water pump, hoses, plugs, wires, dynamo, electronic dizzy, starter, master cylinder, brake lines, brakes, rebuilt suspension, exhaust, tires and wire wheels. With thousands in parts from the last two years, the roadster even comes with a couple boxes of extra new bits for finishing. the interior is also clean and presents well but does not have all the finishing on- it's got great character -

THE GOOD:

Mechanically sound and lots of extra's like the racing windshield, Sebring front valiance, bonnet scope with leather straps and a custom removable Headrest Cowl.
The lucas Electrics Work - (All original glass Lights and gauges work)
Original Drivers Handbook and Workshop Manuel - all Marked (FADING but all updates documented) I purchased the car a few years back from a Bishop in Kentucky - who had it parked since 82 - I have his purchase records and all the papers since the 60's. - you will get this too.
Really Fun to Drive - it loves to cruise at speeds and is really solid for a being 50 years old
Matching numbers - if that matters to you.
If you want to get silly - you still could get a Supercharger or a Weber carb - to up the performance.
You will get your picture taken a lot

The Bad:

Mysterious early 80's modification left AS IS- (example 12volt Positive earth - moved in the engine bay - which meant - some of the electrical are moved) Rear passenger side panel -- solid.. but .. lots of old glue/bondo - and it looks like it was put on by a child.. as does the box that holds the battery.. (picture)
it' has the original Wood Floors - they are not bad.. they are just wood.
I have attempted to fix the Odometer 3 times.. it works .. then doesn't - (log book states.. faulty ODO since 1961.. replaced 3 times prior.. dated and marked mileage.. i guess its a bad design+ i have put about 600miles on it.)
the paint -- its red .. and really shinny - but Chips, Nicks,Waves and Scratches + weirdness if you hunt for them, are present - and unashamed - I'm 50.. and make it look good..
I don't know if it has been converted to Unleaded Fuel - So i use the additive. (records state a rebuild - but nothing about converting and or why)
People will think you have a TwinCAM or a V8 under the bonnet.
it is still Positive Ground - yes.. I know.. positive wire to the frame - will make you second guess everything because the Frame is LIVE- aaah the british ..
it's British and if driven hard or left to sit .. it can be temperamental and needs looking after.. tighten .. then tighten again..
it was original Light blue.
