Up for your consideration is a Stunning 1958 MGA frame off restored roadster. This little honey is from the dry desert town of Winnemucca Nevada. The restoration was started in 1996 with my friend's purchase of an above ground hoist to restore the MG with. Thru the year's the car was totally disassembled and carefully reassembled with all frame and suspension part's repainted. It was painted it's original color of Orient Red (single stage urethane with NO clearcoat to flake off) by Bass Autobody Nampa Id and the correct contrasting red interior. The car is a good dry western car, not an eastern rustmobile with it's original panels in place (except for the lower front grill pan which is new). The matching (15GBUH 20318) 1500 cc engine was totally rebuilt at AIG Engineering in Reno Nevada and now has 12 miles on it. The seating area has the "original english leather bottom's" that it came with along with the armrest from 1958 and they are still soft and supple, it would of been a crime to discard them. The seatbacks have been recovered to match the bottoms. A new Moss motors panel kit has been installed along with new weather strip's. New carpeting inside the car and the trunk. A new convertible top is in place along with a very usable older tonneau cover and side curtian's (need's one plexiglass piece replaced). My friend wanted a no fuss driver MGA, the rebuilt SU's wouldn't run to his satisfaction, so he installed the Weber 2 barrel carburetter and Cannon intake manifold. NOTE***(the rebuilt S U carburettor's, cable linkage, intake and filters all go with with this MGA's ebay auction, if you want to go back, the "stock" fuel system is included). The car has a new wiring harness, new brakes, new hydraulic's, new chrome, new cables, new damper's, mostly new rubber bushings, grommet's and a ton more including 5 brand new tires. It probably wouldn't win a trophy at Pebble Beach, but it was never intended to be used that way nor is it priced at that level. It has some of the best fitting and shutting doors I've ever seen on a MGA and run's and drive's like a top. The sad thing is after 2 hip replacements the builder can never drive his precious car because he can't get in it. It has a few oil leak's (don't all english car's mark their territory?) and the temp gauge doesn't work. Selling for my friend with a tear in his eye. Note..The 1958 Swiss plate and the picnic basket have to go back to my friend's I borrowed them from, the Union Jack flag goes with the car! God save the Queen!
