 1953 MG TD that has been assembled in the form of a period race car. I bought the car 2 1/2 years ago from a private party in Florida who built it as a father/son project. Car number is TD22079 (EXL/NA version)while the engine number is XPAGTD2-22536 which matches the number on the serial number plate.It is a bone stock chassis with a completely and freshly rebuilt 1250 engine, 1 1/2 inch carbs and a stock head fitted with larger valves as used on the TD Mark II and TF 1250. It runs, shifts and drives fine, but could use sorting out like the vast majority of T series cars!  Speedometer says 19,123 miles but I'm sure that it has much more than that on it. Although it has a stock fuel tank, it is equipped with a fuel cell behind the custom made aluminum bucket seats. The interior is trimmed in aluminum diamond plate and is fitted with a full complement of stock gauges all of which function properly except the ammeter. I'm not sure whether the clock works. The speedometer and tachometer are of the earlier chronometric design. The body tub, rear valance, top hood, radiator shell, front valance and rear fenders all appear to be stock while the front fenders are custom cycle type. All body parts have received an amateur restoration  and while the quality is fine for a "race" car, it is by no means concours. All in all, it is a "20 footer" and will draw far more attention than a stock TD at any car show!  The frame has been reinforced or repaired with some welding particularly on the left rail. It appears to be in solid condition.There are no bumpers, running boards, side hoods, top or side curtains. According to the receipts which I will provide to the buyer, there are many new parts in the vehicle including generator, oil pump, voltage regulator, clutch, brakes, Goodrich tires from Coker and much more.  Special items include the mesh type radiator grille, leather hood strap, Brooklands racing screens, Talbot style rear view mirror, and Lucas PL700 lamps in some rather unusual headlight buckets.
