Here we have an interesting car with an air of mystery. It was built especially for Mr. Dale Stone and delivered in 1954. The car was outfitted for rally racing and Mr. Stone participated in the first ever desert rally in Palm Springs, California. There is riveting correspondence by Mr. Stone with Mr. Moss, the Allard Company, Car and Driver, Lucas Engineering, and others. The correspondence is mostly about a transistorized works ignition system and a Sherrock Super Charger which Mr. Stone purchased and never installed. There is a receipt for the super charger and interesting dialog between the parties concerning its installation. The car has many rally features of the day and turns over from the key. The fuel tank has been cleaned and the car has been prepped for start up. Stay tuned for more details as we work with this beautiful period rally car. There is also history available as Mr. Stone was a member of the MG TF registry and was quite active in racing, hill climbs, and keeping this car in race ready condition.
