THE HISTORY

This is an incredible 1953 MG TD Roadster. This is a very rare vehicle and is in very good condition. The MG TD Roadster shows only 62,262 miles on the odometer. The VIN is TD18226, the Body # is 17546/91783, and the Engine # is XPAG/TD2/16726. This vehicle was kept in a collection in Texas for about 20 years before being acquired by a vintage vehicle dealership in 2008. This dealership decided to give the MG a full restoration. The entire body was disassembled, cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted in British Racing Green and put back together. Mechanically, the vehicle had the gas tank boiled and cleaned, new fuel lines, new fuel hoses, new fuel filter, the carbs cleaned and rebuilt with new floats, new master cylinder, new front and rear brake shoes, new front and rear wheel clyinders, new spark plugs, new points and condenser, new right side fender mirror, new radiator hoses, new valve cover gasket, new oil breather tube, new choke cable, new battery, new tires, new gear shift rubber snug, new carpeting, new flume extended for pedals, new rubber mounting pads for all lights and mirrors and glass, new door hinges, new air filter, new stop lamp switch, and new voltage regulator. Also, a complete oil service and coolant flush were done. The wood was all refinished, the canvas top was cleaned and treated, and the seating was cleaned and conditioned. The engine and transmission were fully inspected and found to be in excellent condition. This took about a year to do and in June of 2009 the vehicle was sold to a collector here in South Florida. This collector put the MG in his warehouse with his other vintage vehicles. Unfortunatly, this collector took ill and stopped enjoying his collection. The family asked him to sell the vehicles as he was not enjoying them and they were just sitting covered in dust. We purchased a few with the intent to keep some and resell some. We had this MG taken to our facility were we simply had to change the battery, replace the fuel, clean a few connections, and poof... it started right up and runs beautifully. The MG looks beautiful... but keep in mind the restoration is a few years old now so it has some cosmetic issues here and there... but it can be kept as it is and be fully enjoyed and even shown at some events.... or you could spruce it up and win some concours shows !! We have a CD with the restoration photos which will be given to you.

Overall, I would say this is not a 100point show car that is going to win you PebbleBeach, HOWEVER, it is indeed a wonderful starting point for a complete concours restoration OR a perfect vehicle to drive and enjoy and take to local car shows and show off !!

Danny’s father ran the business before him and Danny took over from him about 10+ years ago. Danny has been riding and servicing BMW motorcycles for over 10 years as well. Jason started as a salesman with a large BMW dealership and was then recruited to become the Internet Sales Manager at one of the largest Jaguar dealerships in the country. Jason was then asked to become the Internet Sales Manager at the largest Porsche/Audi Dealership in the world. Jason just recently left the Porsche/Audi dealership to concentrate full time on Accelerated Auto. Jason has 10+ year’s experience of selling vehicles on eBay.

IMPORTANT - TERMS OF SALE !!!

Buyer pays shipping. We can help with some phone numbers for shippers, but will not hire them for you. Buyer must provide at least a $500 deposit via Paypal, bank wire transfer, or bank cashiers check within 24 hours of auction end and balance must be paid by bank wire transfer or bank cashiers check within 5 days thereafter. If Paypal is used for deposit... it will only be considered a holding deposit but not as actual funds. The entire balance must be paid by bank wire or bank cashiers check and the paypal deposit will be refunded. Paypal is just a convenience feature and not considered an actual source of real money to us. If you do not agree with this... do not use them or do not bid. Vehicle will be released to shipper or to you ONLY after funds have cleared or have been verified. A $260 FL Dealer fee applies to this vehicle regardless of if you live in FL or not and it will be sold through our business. We bought the vehicle under our company so it must be sold under our company, no exceptions. Deposit is non-refundable. Dealers still need to pay dealer fee.

IMPORTANT - FLORIDA LAW REGARDING SALES TAX

If you live in FL, you will pay us 6% sales tax and any county surtax and DMV Tag & Title Fees. If you live outside of Florida, sales tax IS collected at YOUR state's sales tax rate up to a maximum of 6%. You will be given a special notarized form (FL DR-123) that states that you have paid this sales tax and you will NOT be double taxed on the amount of tax you paid when you get home. This is FL LAW and the sales tax is collected even if you hire a transport company to get the vehicle for you. If you live outside of the USA, you are tax exempt ONLY if you have the vehicle trucked away from us by a licensed export company and a Bill of Lading and Export Receipt must be provided to us. Dealers need to provide a valid dealer license, resale certificate, and intent to resell affidavit to be tax exempt. This is Florida law and we will follow the law. No Exceptions !!
