Frank Hollyfield purchased this '52 MGTD in 1960, and we acquired it through the Estate after his death.

Back in the day, the car was converted to Studebaker Champion 6 cylinder power with overdrive.

No hack-job, this was a very professional installation of one of the Premiere Touring drive-trains of the Period,

making this TD a pleasure to drive at highway speeds, as well as 'around town.

The choice of Studebaker was very appropriate for TD's

since the motor and transmission fit quite well,

the added horsepower and torque were at much lower rpm's, giving the car nice performance,

and Studebaker was the number one builder of Overdrive equipped cars at the time, using the well established and easily serviced Borg Warner transmissions and overdrives that had proven themselves over many years of service by nearly every US automaker.

In the mid 90's, when Frank was nearing 70, he had the car restored, according to records that are with the car, it was valued at $11,000 in 1996, just before he had the new interior restoration completed.

After completion, Frank acquired an Alabama Vintage Tag in 1998, and the current Alabama Registration Certificate and Plate come with the car, making Exporting, or Titling in any State easy.
