Very clean rust free car before restoration started. This car still had the paper tags on the wiring harness when I purchased it! Unfortunately the paint shop washed them away during the prep work. I have had this car in my barn for many years before starting to restore it for those fun summer drives with my wife. I worked on it (had work done) for about 2 years before we sold our home and moved to our new "fixer upper" 1950's home. We've come to realize that the estimated costs and actual costs of renovating a home are a chasm far and wide. I tried to convince my wife that living in a home with no windows was like camping, and a Coleman stove will in fact heat food. Alas, she has won the day, and I am forced to sell this little treasure.

It should be noted that I opted not to have the engine compartment, trunk (boot) or the floors painted. As can be seen in the pictures the paint is in near perfect condition in all these areas save for a few normal scratches. I decided to leave these areas alone to showcase the unbelievable lack of rust on this car. The car was professionally painted at a paint shop that does top quality work using top quality materials. They stripped the car down completely before painting. The stripes on the car are painted on. I had intended to put in a 1960's grille in the car, but after seeing the grille the paint shop put in (just for fun), I decided not to change it. The grille just gave the car a fantastic look that I fell in love with. Since I was building this car for my wife and I, I decided to go with leather seats. They are awesome! The smell and feel of them really makes this car. There is simple too much to say about what has been done to this car to get it to this point. Having said that there are a couple of things I should mention about this car. First, the car had been running very rich, and I was informed that the carburetor would need a rebuild. So, I purchased a professionally rebuilt carburetor from a company who rebuilds primarily British carburetors. The carburetor is on, but the car has not been fine tuned yet. I do not have the equipment nor the knowledge to perform this sort of work, and have not had time to take it in to have it done. I have determined that the car needs a new sending unit for the fuel gauge. I believe it may have been damaged when the fuel was drained to flush the tank (after sitting so long). The gauge comes up off empty only slightly and does not register the correct fuel level.

Though the paint on this car is beautiful, there are a couple of minor scratches. My nephew playing ball against the garage (at our previous home) broke a window on the garage door and rained shards of glass onto the drivers side of the car. I about had a heart attack when I saw it. There was glass everywhere, but luckily only put a couple of scratches in the paint. Very hard to see, no one ever notices when they look at it. Finally, I recently noticed a small oil leak on the floor of the garage under the car. I believe this is coming from the valve cover gasket.

This car drives fantastically. It is tight on the road, the new brakes are perfectly and the overdrive transmission shifts perfectly. The car has been in non-operated status for many years due to the fact I wasn't quite ready to start driving it. I have driven it around locally here in my town of Hollister California, and have enjoyed the looks and questions about the car's beauty. The car has a clean title with no back registration due. Obviously if sold in California, the smog will be the responsibility of the buyer since it needs that fine tuning for the new carburetor. This car is ready for the road once fine tuned, and will provide its new owner with an endless amount of pride of ownership. I have recently been showing this car to everyone who comes through my new property; contractors, friends, new neighbors and many people coming through to purchase old stuff from my new barn left by the previous owner. Every person who has looked at this car has fallen in love with it. The colors, the interior and the overall looks of this car is just simply amazing. We will greatly miss this car even though we have only driven it locally here a few times. Of course this car is being sold "as is", but you are welcome to come by to look at it here in Hollister California. You will not be disappointed!

Car comes with both boot cover and tonneau covers
