Some of you might remember this listing from November 2013. The high bidder did not pay.
Vehicle was put in storage since November 2007 when I changed out the oil and anti-freeze, drove it to the indoor storage location, put a cover over it, and left the country for almost 5 years. On November 30 2013 I uncovered it, aired the tires, rolled it out, hosed off a lot of the dust that had settled, attempted to jump start, and photographed 40 or so shots. There is some reasonable chance you could install a battery, add some fresh fuel, get it started, and drive it away. More reasonably, a trailer, dolly, or tow-bar for haul-away is suggested. I'd like to see it purchased, maintained, and possibly restored by someone with the same appreciation for these classic cars that I have had. I just don't have room for it in my life any longer. I'll be sad to see it go but happy for its new better life ahead. I have most receipts for the parts listed below. The motor rebuild receipt is posted here. ****************************** Auction Absolute!, No Reserve, $250 Starting Price, May The Best Bid Win! A few months before I put it in storage, I was considering to list it for sale. For Sale 1975 MGB roadster convertible "rubber bumper" x23,8xx miles (23,870 indicated) white exterior tan (saddle) / black interior black top I have owned this vehicle since March 2000 (~03,000 miles indicated). It has been a second or third car for me and a labor of love to keep it alive. I'm going to work at sea and won't need any cars, nor have any place to keep them. Overall I describe this vehicle as average condition for its age with plenty of normal wear and tear. The drive train is above average good condition with many components replaced or rebuilt. Motor runs strong, transmission shifts smoothly. driveline, steering, suspension, and brakes are fully functional; Exterior is average fair condition with a few minor dents and dings, paint chips with rust, cracked mirror glass, door hinges sag just a bit and still close OK, considerable floor pan rust as is typical for this vehicle model and with some fiberglass floor pan restoration in place. convertible top, headlamps, tail lamps, brake lamps are fully functional; Interior is below average fair to poor condition, cracked dashboard, torn seat cover, mis-matched some missing carpet, some disassembly. manual windows, door latches, heater, defroster and fan, mission-critical switches and gauges are fully functional. Vehicle has not been registered for the last 2.5 years. I have warmed it up and taken it around the neighborhood at least every couple of months or so, and last week to shoot the photo indicating 50 mph and 50 psi oil.
