Up for auction is a 1969 MGB with the rare and highly sought after over-drive transmission and wire wheels. I would call this car a"nice driver ". The car has had much work done, looks nice for a driver and drives great so take your time and read this auction in its entirety. I have a nice file on the car dating back to 1982 when the car had 70,000 miles on her ( now has 80,870 ).

Heritage: This is a purported to be a numbers matching car and I have done my research and believe it to be so. The commission number is GHN4U161435G, engine number is 18-GH-RWE-H 778 and the body tag number is MGB010988. You should do your own research to ensure that my research is correct. Mechanicals: The car runs and drivers out very nicely with no known issues and starts right up with just a touch of the key and has great engine / throttle response. The car starts right up with no smoke, noises, ticks or shaking about. The car holds very good oil pressure and does not over heat. The engine is very tight with no fluid leaks or drips under the car that I have seen. The transmission shift very well up / down thru all the gears with no noises or scraping. The car will reverse up an incline with no issues and does not pop out of gear. The clutch peddle is strong as are the brakes. I would not hesitate to drive this car any distance at this time. The car was just serviced this week with new points, plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap, rotor button, oil change, new air filters, new thermostat, coolant fluid changed, transmission fluid serviced and rear end fluid serviced. During the service it was noted that the alternator was only putting out 11 amps so a NEW alternator and fan belt have been ordered and will be installed next Tuesday June 24th. The clutch and brakes mater cylinders where replaced some time back.

Over-Drive Transmission: Yes this car has the rare and highly sought after over-drive transmission that works perfectly in 3rd and 4th gears. The over-drive transmission really enhances the in city driving experience and makes all the works difference on the highway at today's current speed limits.

Electrical's: This area looks very solid with no Lucas "gremlins" here. The head lights work ( high beam and low beam ), wipers work, blower fan works, brake lights work, front and rear directional lights work, front and rear running lights work, dash gauge lights work, dash light dimmer switch works, license plate lights work, reverse lights work, map light / courtesy light works, horn works and the hazard switch works.

Gauges: All gauges are correct "Smith" brand and all are in working order at this time.

Interior: The interior is overall very good condition ( see photos ). It has a very nice dash and almost new carpet and MG logo rubber floor mats.

Exterior: The exterior is in what I call "driver quality" condition. The car looks good in the photos but does have paint chips so look closely at the photos. The car sits evenly and squarely on the ground and has no signs of sagging or the dreaded "MG left leaning" issues. The panel fit and gap fit is very nice ( see photos ). The front / rear dog legs and rocker panels are in great shape with no signs of damage or repairs. All glass is original "Triplex" and they are clear and cloud free. Solid and damage free jack points. The wheels are just stunning! The wheels have been repainted in correct factory colors and the wheels are wrapped in almost new all matching radial tires. The car also has a Tonneau cover that doubles as a top cover.

Underbody: The underbody looks original and solid with no signs of repairs ( the car was stored in doors most of her life so she is very solid ). I have underbody photos available to those who have a real interest in the car ( just ask and I'll send them over to you ).

Soft Top: The soft top is new and fits perfectly and has a zip out rear window.

Trunk: IS very solid and has a spare wire / tire, know off tool and a jack.
