MG built a very limited number of their GT models with the Rover V8 motor after they bought the rights to this engine from GM who used this aluminum block V8 in early 60's Oldsmobiles & Buicks. Over the years, people have replicated this in the Roadster version which many say is the car that might have saved the company. This car began it's second life as an original, low mileage (47k) rust free car. The then owner took it to a foreign car specialty shop on Long Island, NY that has built several V8 MG's & knows just how to build them the right way. The shop started by building a 1962 Olds 215 cu.in . aluminum block V8 to pretty much stock specs with exception of a slightly hotter cam and a 4bbl. carburetor. They then mated it to a GM 5 speed transmission so it cruises all day long at highway speed at low RPM & very good gas mileage. To make it even better, the owner had air conditioning added for summer top down comfort. During the build, the shop also installed a thermostatically controlled electric fan which keeps the car running at a cool 190 degrees even with the A/C on in the hottest days. It enjoys a throaty dual exhaust system that gives it a nice exhaust tone, but won't get on your nerves on long distance cruises. When I purchased the car, it had about 90% of it's original paint, but years of waxing had worn the paint down on the hood & tops of fenders , so I had them repainted. The car has no known issues with exception to the throw out bearing being a little noisy with clutch disengeged but should last many more thousand miles. In an effort of full disclosure, I just wanted to mention it as I enjoy 100% Ebay rating & have had several people call me after the sale to thank me for representing the car correctly, as it should be. The car has less than 1500 miles since all the work was completed less than 2 years ago. Owning several classic cars,I have decided to reduce my collection to a reasonable number. The top is like new ( less than 2 years old). Another common issue with the B's is the seat foam tends to break down over the years. Not this car. Both seats were rebuilt with new foam & seat covers. This is an extremely nice MG that draws a lot of attention anywhere it goes. People are surprised when they hear the V8 growl.
Now, all the legal stuff: I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I will assist your shipper in any reasonable way that I can. Payment must be paid by Cashiers, Bank, certified, or cash prior to car leaving my possession. I require a $1000 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of end of auction. I have set the reserve at what I consider a very reasonable price, but don't wish to divulge the amount, so plaese don't ask. It is far less than you would have to spend to duplicate building a car of this caliber. I have learned over the years that it is far less expensive to buy a car that's done than to built it yourself, & this one is well done & turnkey.
