I am pleased to offer for sale my early, pull handle, steel dash MGB. The car comes with owner's manual, workshop manual and the Heritage Trust certificate. The best news about this MGB is that it was a California car with only 46,550 original miles. This was a one family owned car. The underside of this 50 year old car is unbelievable with no apparent rust. A very nice rust-free trunk still showing its original iris blue color. The interior is in very nice condition with all gauges and switches working. The seats have been redone and the carpets look to have been replaced not long ago.
The engine compartment which also looks nice with a polished brass radiator top, chromed original valve cover along with other chromed engine parts. When I purchased the car it had already been upgraded to the 12 volt negative ground system with an alternator for better electrics. The car starts right up and runs strong with no smoking.
The convertible top is in okay condition with a 1/2 inch tear just above the driver's door. All windows in the top look good. The windshield has just been replaced with a new one, and all new rubber for windshield and windshield mounting frame to body.
The car comes with five nice wire knock-off wheels and five good tires.
The body of the car has had a re-spray sometime in the past to the white color it is now. From 15 feet away, it looks okay but not the kind of paint job this nice car deserves. Whoever painted the car didn't take enough time to do a really good job of setting the door and trunk lid gaps. This was going to be my next project to prep the car for paint and then paint it back to its original color. This is the reason I am selling the car because I am no longer able to do this. Being in my late sixties and just having three surgeries this last year this kind of work for me is out of the question.
Here is a list of things that have been done not too long ago:
. New windshield
. New rubber for windshield and windshield mounting frame
. Stainless steel oil cooler lines
. New K&N air filters and mounting kit (originals come with car)
. New heater hoses, radiator hoses, cap and thermostat
. New fan belt
. New drive shaft and U joints
. New rear brakes - front looked really good
. Replaced rear axle breather, "O" rings and seals on both sides
. New turn signal switch
. New window and window vent rubber and felt channels for both doors
. New tie rod ends
. New steering rack bellows
. New seat foam and covers
. Fluids changed
No warranties are expressed or implied, and this is an "AS IS WHERE IS" sale. Feel free to have the car inspected before you bid if you like. All sales are final and there are no refunds or returns. Remember you are bidding on a 50 year old car with the usual imperfections that a car of this age might have. This is not a new car.
