I'm selling my 1974 MGB GT coupe. 1974 was the last year of production for the GTs, which were made in relatively low production numbers compared to the more common Roadster.

The car runs good and is extremely fun to drive. It was repainted years ago, but its beginning to show its age. The original wheels have been refinished, and they look fantastic. All of the trim rings and center caps are there and also in good condition. There are a few small rust spots along the along the bottom of fenders that are starting to bubble beneath the paint. You can see the rust in the pictures. However, the underside of the doors are rust-free and the floor pans are solid.

The odometer and speedometer are not currently working so I'm unable to fairly state how many miles are on the car, but it currently lists 90,554. However, the car runs and shifts great, doesn't smoke, and doesn't leak any oil.

The seats and door panels have been reupholstered and are in excellent condition and neither have any rips or stains. The carpet and original floor mats are also in great condition. The dash has a few cracks so we got a carpet overlay that fits nicely and looks stock. The headliner and trim is starting to starting to show its age.

I just replaced the white-letter Cooper tires shown in the pictures with brand new Generals and had the oil changed. The tires don't even have 50 miles on them.

The car does have a few quirks that need to be addressed. As with any older British car, some of lights and switches stop working after a while and require maintenance. I'm sure it's nothing more than cleaning the switches due to a bad connection, but the turn signals do not work. The wipers also do not work. I recently had knee surgery and my health no longer permits me to get down on the ground to fix these issues.

The last issue worth noting is the broken ignition switch. As you can see in the pictures, I currently have the plastic steering column cover off because it won't start by turning the ignition key. Instead, I have to use a screw driver to turn the ignition switch. The ignition lock is good and I'm pretty sure it needs a new ignition switch. I'm sure the part is available online, but I haven't looked into replacing it.

However, none of those issues are anything major. The important thing is that the car runs and shifts great with no engine problems to speak of, and has nice paint and upholstery. While it's not a show car, it's a very nice driver and it gets looks and compliments everywhere it goes. The GTs are sought after and getting hard to find, and this is a very nice remaining example.
