This car has a very long list of new parts, over $6500 in new parts alone. We bought the car for my son, he loves the car!! but is 6'2" and has a hard time getting in and out of the car when the top is up. MY LOSS. I worked as a British car mechanic and have owned many British cars. The following list of new parts and things that were rebuilt.
NEW
Top, Seats Trimmed by a shop with soft leather, Door panels, Door tops, Window to body seals, Door seals, Windshield glass seal, windshield to body seal, Windshield post seals, Door pull/arm rest, Dash cap, Sun visors, and hardware,
Engine Bored .020 over and a Major Brit Tek engine kit rebuild, New 8.8:1 compression pistons, Rings, Pins, Main bearings, Rod bearings, Cam bearings, Brit-Tek's 270c Mild (1500 to 6200 rpm) Street cam with heavy duty lifters, Timing chain, Timing sprockets, Timing chain tensioner, Valve springs, valve seals, Rocker arm shaft, Oil pump, updated oil pressure relief valve and spring, all locking tabs, Front and Rear main seal, all gaskets, Pace Setter long tube exhaust header, complete exhaust, cast aluminum valve cover, Weber 32/36 DGV carburetor with automatic choke, DGV aluminum intake, DGV washable air filter, electronic ignition, rebuilt alternator.
The clutch, pressure plate and release bearing were obviously very recent, New clutch slave cylinder.
Newly Armstrong upper control arm/shocks, New suspension bushings, kingpin, wheel bearings, tierod ends, brake rotors, brake calipers, brake hoses, springs,
There may be more new things but at the moment I cant think of them. The car starts immediately and runs perfect. It drives great and I would not hesitate to drive it cross the US in a moments notice. All electrical work with the exception of the clock.
The body has been repainted with base coat/clear coat paint, There is what I would call minor rust under the car. This is a perfect car for someone who wants a car that is TOTALY ready to go mechanically but isn't a show car or museum piece that needs to be preserved. It is however a head turner and looks fantastic. Paint is very shiny and the Red and Black looks awesome. We did this car with the intention of it being my sons car to take to college and have no worries about having it sit out or driving it in the rain.
