DESCRIPTION
This gorgeous 1977 MGB Roadster was fully rebuilt from the ground up and finished in PPG Delstar acrylic enamel British Racing Green over all new Prestige Tan Leather interior upholstery, and folding black vinyl top & matching boot cover! Because of the added rigidity of the later MGB chassis, the 1977 platform was selected for a drivetrain conversion as well as the integration of the more desired earlier chrome bumper design. The results speak for themselves; just beautiful!
Power comes from a professionally built Rover 3.9L engine bored .020 with standard crank and rod bearings, upgraded Crower cam & cam bearings, Sealed Power hydraulic lifters, Buick 215 valve train, intake, distributor, & crank pulley; Rover balancer, Edelbrock 500cfm carburetor with electric choke, Pertronix ignition, 80-amp alternator, Melling high-volume oil pump with D&D filter, electric fuel pump, Buick 300 water pump, Spal 14” electric fan with thermostatic control, D&D radiator, ceramic coated exhaust headers with true dual exhaust fitted with Silverline tips! The transmission is a fully rebuilt Borg Warner T5 5-speed manual fitted with a D&D 10” clutch, Weber hydraulic throw-out bearing, MGB clutch master cylinder, D&D pressure plate, and balanced drive shaft! The rear axle is also a specialty D&D Fabrications GM S10 fitted with a 3.05 gear ratio.
The suspension has been enhanced to best balance the power to the ground! It utilizes MGB shocks & spindles with lowered coil springs and added 5/8” anti-roll bar. At the rear, the leaf springs have been de-arched 2” to match the front, tube shocks, and added traction bars. It utilizes polyurethane pads and bushings both front and rear. On the ground are 15x6” Minilite-style alloy wheels with 195/60 radial tires. The brakes received new brake master cylinder, rebuilt calipers, cross-drilled rotors up front with semi-metallic pads, and all new brake lines throughout.
With a build this thorough, and well executed, you can’t help but appreciate the attention to detail and level of new equipment involved! The entire fuel system is new including gas tank and lines, all new wiring harnesses with upgraded Halogen headlights, all new window glass, new chrome bumpers & guards, front spoiler, recalibrated tachometer for the V8, painted dash and console, etc.! It truly is exciting from the very second you turn the key! The transmission is crisp and tight, and the acceleration rewards you instantly with an easy press of the gas pedal! It’s absolutely sorted mechanically and ready to enjoy immediately! It has approximately 2,000 on the new drivetrain. Please call with any questions or to schedule a chance to review this stellar MGB V8 in person!
