Here's an opportunity to bid on a wonderful car that was fully restored about 20 years ago with about 500 miles on it by the same owner since that restoration.
This is car number 16,797, made between jan 56 (11,145) and sept 56 (20,671).
I love the shape of MGAs. They are the best rolling sculpture you can get for the money, and we have had lots of them at Bugeyeguy... this is our second favorite car next to Bugeyes. Take a drive in the video to the right!
This is a great one, it feels just right, and it looks sharp in olde English white and red. Everything is in the correct places, all the right stuff is on the car, no molested parts. And most importantly, this is a solid car with no rust! The frame is excellent and the original inner sills are still intact (rare on MGAs). The rockers and fender bottoms are excellent. The trunk floor is excellent. The frame is excellent. This classic has a bunch of new parts installed recently, such as two new correct 6 volt batteries, a new radiator, new ignition switch and four new painted Dayton wire wheels. This is expensive stuff, that has been handled for you.
The car has an excellent correct top and top bows. She also has a good tonneau.
Paint shines nicely and looks great. Paint does show some age-related checking visible but hard to capture in photographs. The good news is the (subtle) paint issues are due to age and not rust. Some might choose to repaint this car, but on the other hand it has a nice driver feel about it, and is very useable as is.
Mechanicals are good as you can see in the driving video. Punch list items are new front shocks and a rebuild on the turn signal switch. We can do these for the new owner for an extra charge if desired. The engine is very clean, and the engine bay has an excellent black paint job. It looks sharp under the hood! The driver's seat back has some minor damage, which has been masked with red tape. It's not serious, and the foam and seat covers were replaced during the restoration and are nice.
These minor flaws have been priced into a very low reserve and very reasonable buy it now, when you consider the timeless curves of this wonderful classic ride.
If you’re looking for a very solid and sound car you can jump in and drive, this is a great choice at a reasonable price! Feel free to call with questions, 203 561 6929. You can see a slideshow with more pictures by clicking here!
