1962 MGA Mark II with numbers matching 1622 engine. Bought the car in 2008 and have been restoring it ever since. Engine removed and rebuilt by Billy Ricker, Ricker Machine Shop, Hendersonville. Bored, sleeved, oversize pistons, rings, crank ground, new cam, valves, springs, chain, bearings, etc. Carbs rebuilt, balanced, tested, new fuel system complete; fuel tank, all lines, filters, pump. New exhaust system complete from header to tail. All new wiring, instruments working (speedo needs recalibration) Lights, turn signals, brake lights working. Shocks rebuilt, new wheel bearings, brakes all new, front calipers, rear shoes, drums & discs turned, all brake lines, master cylinder, type 5 fluid. Windshield glass is new. Tonneau cover is new.

Body was painted with engine and parts removed, silver metallic clear coat inside and out. New hood and boot seals, doors close and lock securely. Interior seats were rebuilt and are temporarily covered in black leather as are doors. Floor carpets are temporary, gray carpet. Top frame installed, no covering. Door window panels have not been restored, but all there. Carries a full spare on disc wheel. Wheels are cast aluminum made by Appliance Wheel. Tires show some wear, but evenly and completely serviceable except for racing.

Driving experience: Remember this car is 51 years old and the technology, even when it was new, was behind the times (it's an English car). All Lucas parts prone to failure have been replaced. It has a Delco alternator, switches are all American, fuel pump is s.s. marine grade and a new starter which although it is Lucas has proven reliable. It is very fast. I routinely drive it on Interstate 40 & 26 from Waynesville to Hendersonville and have no trouble keeping up.
