1993 4.6L Mercury Grand Marquis. Don't look at this post if you don't understand what conditions these cars are usually in. 90% of them are beat to shit. I've personally owned 2 crown vics and 2 grand marquis. I can tell you every problem these cars could and would have, and its not much. Best condition 20 year old grand marquis on the market.

THE *EXACT* SAME Grand Marquis sold for $3,000 on Ebay 2 weeks ago with 166,000 Miles!

Where do I start? This car is unbelievable. BRAND NEW TOYO TIRES!!!!!! The frame is black. Black as in not a spot of rust. Exhaust isn't even rusty, cats aren't even rusty. When I say black frame I mean southern car, garage kept. The body has little dots of rust under the car. little tiny beginner rust for a 20 year old car. Not flaking rust, not even remotely close. Immaculate. The car has 83,000 miles. Transmission is FLAWLESS and overdrive WORKS. The engine is a 4.6L V8 with an aluminum intake manifold (not plastic like 1995+ and newer models!! Which causes them to leak coolant into the engine!!) perfect radiator, perfect steering, perfect suspension, brake lines are NOT RUSTED! Fuel lines are NOT RUSTED!! underbody is UNBELIEVABLE. comes with alloy rims and DIGITAL DASH! Gets 20mpg! AC is ICE COLD. Heat is HOT. POWER EVERYTHING.

This car was owned by an older lady for 53,000 miles, and then a very up-tight rich fellow I bought it from who kept records on the entire car with a binder. His 22 year old son drove the car. All he did was change the alternator and he has receipts for every oil change.

Now what's wrong with it?

1) Vacuum line leak. Very normal for crown vics and grand marquis. Easy fix, couple hours of labor. Doesn't affect ANYTHING. You can hear it when you open the hood ONLY.

2) Drivers seat is torn. The kid drove with his shirt off and stretched and tore the leather. $150-200 for a seat on Ebay. Easy fix, unbolt, unplug, remove, plug it in and rebolt. 1 hour of labor. Seat is full power.

3) Driver side AND passenger window motors bad. $50 fix. 1 hour of labor. Glass is still perfect. Again, a very common problem for any car 20 years old.

4) Small paint scrapes on rear and front bumper.

That's all that's wrong. Not a dent in the body, 83,000 original miles. If you want to put 100,000+ miles on a car for cheap, with low maintenance, a car that will ALWAYS get you through the winter, a car that will ALWAYS start, always get you to your destination and never leave you stranded. A 4.6L is Fords equivalent of the Chevy 5.7L, and it gets 10mpg better gas mileage. Grand Marquis and Crown Victorias are very high, if not TOP on the list of the most reliable cars out on the market. I'm not asking much, but I'm not letting this go for a steal. All it needs is a seat and 2 window motors. These cars hold their value very well for their age if you want to buy it for your kid to drive, or want a car for the time-being and want to sell it later.

Happy bidding, this car is a gem.

Watch as an out-of-control car demolishes gas pump

Tue, May 2 2017

A Baltimore area man was fighting for his life Tuesday after crashing his car into a gas station. According to WBAL, the unidentified 64-year-old lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons around 4:55 a.m. May 1 in Parkville, Md. The 2007 Mercury Milan careened downhill, ramped over a curb, and smashed full-speed into a gas station pump. The car then flipped and came to rest against one of the station's canopy support pillars. Don Karbowniczek, owner of a service station across the street, told WBAL he was shocked there wasn't more damage. It's also surprising that the car even made it to the pumps, as it had to thread past a coin-op vacuum machine, the station's sign, a utility pole, and a traffic light pole. "It came right through, took some of our bushes out, just trimmed them for us, and how it got through and flip the way it did, I don't know. From what I see on the marks, it had to go airborne and just come down on the pump," Karbowniczek said. Thankfully there was no fire or explosion. Gas pumps have shear valves - safety devices that immediately cut the flow of gasoline when a pump is damaged. The driver was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, and was in critical condition. Police theorized the driver may have become stricken with a health issue when he lost control. The AM37 is literally the Aston Martin of boats

Wed, Sep 28 2016

While sports car companies such as Porsche and Lamborghini are looking to SUVs to expand their offerings, Aston Martin has taken a page from Mercedes and designed a boat. Specifically, it's a 37-foot powerboat appropriately named the AM37. The boat was developed with help from Mulder Design and Quintessence Yachts, and is available in two different versions, both of which should the aquatic equivalent of Aston Martin performance. The standard AM37 is available with two different pairs of engines from Mercury, either 370-horsepower diesel engines or 450-horsepower gas engines. If that's not enough, Aston also offers the AM37S, which comes with a pair of 520-horsepower gasoline Mercury engines. Like road-going Astons, this boat is absolutely gorgeous. The lines are simple, crisp and clean. It features a beautiful wood deck, and an impressive double-curved, single-piece glass windshield. And if you get tired of the sun, the AM37 features a powered, carbon fiber bimini top. The interior completes the package with a carbon fiber dashboard, lots of leather and polished steering wheel, throttle and joystick. It's also incredibly well-equipped with seating for eight, air conditioning, mood lighting, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, a bed that folds out from the table, and even a bathroom. Aston Martin didn't release pricing or availability for the AM37. However, we suspect that if you really want this boat and have the means, pricing doesn't matter, and you're probably willing to wait. Translogic drives wood-burning Mercury Beaver XR-7

Sun, 31 Jul 2011

You read the title right, we're talking about the Mercury Beaver XR-7. No, Mercury never officially built a car called the beaver. This is the brainchild of upstate New Yorker Chip Beam, who owns and operates Beaver Energy, LLC. It runs on gases created by wood pellets fermented in a 2,400-degree furnace and fed to a supercharged Ford 4.6-liter V8.
By all accounts, it gets down the road just fine, and has pretty close to full power. The best part is, you can grow the fuel yourself and avoid patronizing big oil, if that's your thing. The only drawback that we can see to the Mercury Beaver XR-7 is the PVC pipe jungle occupying the space that would be the trunk under normal circumstances.
Still, if you're willing to smell like a mountain man and look like a bad Back to the Future knockoff, this ride is right up your alley. Click past the jump to see Translogic's take on this modified Merc.
