1969 Mercury Cougar Xr7 All Original 351ci Fmx Auto A/c California on 2040-cars
San Diego, California, United States
This is a very original 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7. Factory original 351ci engine and FMX automatic transmission with 3.00 rear axle. Factory Air Conditioning and all of the components are in place. The original carb was rebuilt earlier this year. It starts up good, runs smoothly and idles the way it should. The Bright Blue (code 6) body is all original and it has never been painted, plus it is very straight and clean overall as shown. The engine sounds great and has no smoking. The transmission shifts into the gears as it should with no known issues. The power brakes feel good and the steering wheel is tight. This has not been on the road in a couple years. It has been lot driven but that is it. Also I have not cleaned out the gas tank so I have it running off fresh fuel under the hood. Other than that it should be ready to drive after it is inspected thoroughly. The electronics work, as do the lights. The headlight doors close when you start it and slowly open awhile after turning it off. I was going to go further with this car but other plans have changed that and I am parting ways with it. I've owned it for a few summers now. The tires hold air but they are old. The interior is original and in place. Trunk is solid. The floors are very clean and solid. I have a clean pink California title with it. This is for NON California residents only. If the title is processed here it may not return clean. Any other state it will retain its clean title and its also fine for export. International buyers accepted. I have sold a couple cars here and my listings sell rather quickly. I have described it the best I can and I took 40 pictures to show it better than words can describe. It has the original tag up front with the vin that matches the vin plate. All questions will be answered quickly and honestly. |

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line
Wed, 05 Jan 2011The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Tue, 04 Nov 2014
Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
This Mercury Cyclone is an American Muscle Car in Norway
Tue, Oct 27 2015The picturesque Norwegian countryside certainly doesn't seem like the natural stomping grounds for a 1969 Mercury Cyclone, but owner Alexander Brevik makes the odd combo look like an ideal match. Even with the beautiful surroundings, Brevik sees no need to enjoy the scenery; he'd much rather just be driving this vintage muscle car. Take a ride with him in the latest clip from Petrolicious. Like many of us, Brevik's automotive obsession started at childhood, and today he has amassed a multitude of projects to wrench on. While he loves working on all of these cars, we all need a break sometimes, and that's what the Cyclone is for. Even when the rest of his collection isn't running, this orange beauty is always ready to go. Brevik may not pay much attention to the landscape, but Petrolicious makes the muscle car look fantastic in the Norwegian woods nonetheless. With its rumbling V8 engine and three-speed manual, this Cyclone turns out to be a perfect cruising companion in the Land of the Midnight Sun. And if you just can't get enough of classic muscle cars and the people who love them, check out our video coverage of the 2015 Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit down below. Related Video:
