1967 MERCURY COUGAR

ONE OF KIND COMPLETELY RESTORED!!!

OVER 75 PICTURES! GIVE THEM TIME TO LOAD! LOOK BELOW DESCRIPTION FOR ALL OF THE PICTURES!

A super rare find and one of a kind! Completely restored and modified 1967 Mercury Cougar. In a custom Blue exterior. You will not see this color on any other! Ground up restoration was done and completed professionally in May 2012. Over $25,000. in this project and it shows! The current owner had a vision with this car to be his dream show car. Unforeseen circumstances force the sale of his baby. His blood sweat and tears can be your dream. He really hopes the new owner can see the hard work and appreciate her as she should be. Show her! Drive her you will surely turn some heads! It's so deserving. Solid southern car. Just moved to New York.

The 1970 rebuilt 302 V8 was rebuilt with approximately 10,000 miles ago and was re-ringed, new cam and lifters with roller rockers, all new bearings and pistons. 3-Speed C4 Automatic transmission with a limited slip 3.73 posi rear end. All new bushings in front suspension replaced. Welded on traction bars *this car hooks up and goes!!! Manual rack & pinion steering. 4 piston calipers, 4 wheel power disk brakes. KYB performance shocks, Dynomax mufflers for a fantastic sound! 17" Mustang GT wheels with brand new Eagle GT tires at $300 each!! Re-chromed factory bumpers. Trunk mounted battery. Owner added sound deadening to floor pans and the trunk floor to limit sound internally. Power antenna. Electronic headlight motors replace factory vacuum ones-motor does not make enough vacuum on it's own because of the BIGGER camshaft. The famous sequential tail lights work perfect! Custom seats with blue cougar embroidery. B&M Shifter. Custom blue digital gauges on dash. The custom hood scoop that is a functional ram air system! This car was stripped to bare metal. Then epoxy primed and a custom blue mix was applied base coat clear coat. It's stunning!! The owner has driven the car about 460 miles since restoration was completed. It's currently resting on four jack stands in a heated garage.

Just recently after a year in storage the owner took the car out for a ride. During the ride he noticed white smoke from the drivers side tail pipe. He immediately pulled over and shut the car off. We are assuming its head gasket issue. The vehicle still runs great and makes no abnormal noises. No internal damage was done. Other than a drivers side mirror needing to be tightened that is all the issues noticed with the car. The owner is done investing so those are the new owners minor issues to fix. Again this is a 1 of a kind 67' Mercury Cougar. Start spring with a true muscle car for the shows and of course to turn many heads!! Good luck with your bidding!!

We know if you're serious buyer you're going to have questions. So please feel free to call me. Dana 585-455-7333. Leave a message with your name & number and any questions. I will get back to you within a day with answers! Serious buyers only. Don't bother asking what is the reserve. Those questions will not be answered. Bid to own! Good luck.

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

Junkyard Gem: 1995 Mercury Tracer Trio

Sat, Feb 5 2022

With the rise of Radwood, cars with exaggerated characteristics associated with the 1980s and 1990s are cool again. That means some combination of pastel and/or neon colors, squiggly squeezed-from-toothpaste-tube graphics, nonfunctional decklid spoilers, giant TURBO badging, and kicky youth-centric nomenclature are required if you want your wheels to be considered in compliance with the sacred tenets of Radism. I do my best to find rad machinery while crawling around in car graveyards, and since I came of driving age in 1982 I know a bit about the subject. Today's rare Junkyard Gem shows us the Mercury Division's belated attempt to sell fun cars to rad-leaning youngsters: a Tracer Trio, found in a Denver yard a few weeks back. The Trio package added 310 bucks to the cost of the $11,280 base Tracer sedan (that's about $575 on a $20,925 car in 2022 dollars), and it got the hip-and-trendy young buyer a leather-wrapped steering wheel, seven-spoke wheels, a decklid spoiler and these rad fender badges. I'm going to say that the much louder graphics and candy-cane-colored displacement badges on the Pontiac Sunbird W25 out-radded the Tracer Trio by a mile, but then Pontiac generally out-radded everyone in those days. Even Plymouth got into the act with such radness as the Breeze Expresso and Sundance Duster (we'll overlook the anti-rad Horizon Miser here). Perhaps tellingly, Mercury, Pontiac and Plymouth all got the "Old Yeller" treatment not long after the Rad Era ended. The Tracer name always went on Mercuries built on Mazda platforms, starting with the Australia-built, Ford Laser-based 1987-1989 cars and then continuing with Mexico-assembled, Ford Escort-based 1991-1996 cars. That generation of Escort/Tracer was mechanical twins with the Mazda Protege, itself the bridge between the 323 and the Mazda3. Some Tracers got the a 1.8-liter Mazda engine that was related to the Miata's engine, but this one has the pure-Detroit CVH 1.9. You're looking at 88 horsepower right here; the Mazda 1.8 offered 127 horses. At least the original buyer of this car got the base five-speed manual transmission instead of forking over $815 extra (about $1,510 today) for the four-speed slushbox. As a 29-year-old slacker living in San Francisco's Mission District and driving a hooptie '65 Chevy Impala sedan at the time, I would have taken the manual transmission without the Trio package, had I been forced to buy a new Tracer.

New Forza 6 car pack will let you race the Pontiac Aztek

Fri, Jan 29 2016

Just in time for this weekend's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, the new Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 on the Xbox One lets you slip into the driver's seat of last year's winner. If you want to take something much weirder for a spin, the collection also includes a 2005 Pontiac Aztek. The download is available now for $6.99. The Ford #02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley Mk XXVI Daytona was in a four-car battle early in last year's race, but it eventually was victorious. Forza Motorsport 6 also challenges drivers who download the car to a new Rivals event around Daytona, and the fastest people could win Alpinestars prizes. If you're nostalgic for a classic Daytona racecar, this pack includes Mercury #15 Whistler Radar Cougar XR-7. The V8-powered beast won the IMSA GTO class in the 24-hour event in 1990. It should be fun around the game's longer road courses like Road Atlanta. This collection also has an eclectic mix of vehicles that aren't racecars. The controversial Aztek and the equally-controversial 1996 Subaru SVX take their places beside a lineup that offers drivers three eras of performance cars – a 1967 Sunbeam Tiger, 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5, and 1992 Alfa Romeo Milano Quadrifoglio Verde. The video below shows all of them in action. Race to the Finish Line with the Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 By Xbox Wire Staff posted on January 27, 2016 at 8:00 am With the racing season set to kick into full gear during this weekend's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona race, Forza fans now have a chance to get their own taste of endurance racing glory with the Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6, available on Thursday, Jan. 28. Leading off the pack of seven cars is last year's 24 Hours of Daytona winner, the 2015 Ford #02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley Mk XXVI Daytona Prototype. The prototype will be fielded in this weekend's race, which begins at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday, Jan. 30 and can be viewed live on Fox Sports 1 in the U.S. The Alpinestars Car Pack features six additional cars, each with a unique pedigree all its own. From the 1990 Mercury #15 Whistler Radar Cougar XR-7 – also a competitor in Daytona 24 Hour events of years past – to the inimitable 2005 Pontiac Aztek (famous more for its fictional owner than its performance), this pack has something for every kind of car fan. Forza Motorsport 6 is the only game where players can drive last year's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona winner on the recently remodeled Daytona International Speedway.
