NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!!

Up for sale is my 2007 Shelby Mustang GT.  I am the sole owner of this car.  I put 4.10 gears in the rear, custom hood, spoiler and rear window louvers.  This car is truly an eye catcher.  She is loud and fast.  I am only selling it because I needed a truck for work and just cant afford to store it any longer.  She gets good gas mileage for being a muscle car.  I can average around 24 mpg.   My dreams were to start building the car as a racer/drag car, but that was shortly lived due to lack of funds! I didnt have the time or money to build the car and she was my everyday driver.  The car has around 340 horsepower as it stands.  The vinyl stripes that came from shelby had defects, so the car was shipped out and stripes were painted on the car.  I do have the ford factory stripes and hood scoop from shelby to keep the car original.  The package will go to the buyer of the vehicle.

the cons:

The car was parked at my dads shop when a car was t-boned on the intersection, rolled up and went into the back of my car.  The bumper was pushed in ever so slightly with paint chips.  The woman who hit my car had her insurance company fix my bumper, so an accident report was filed.  The rear spoiler has some fading.  It didn't bother me, but it could be repainted.  The stripes are a factory ford color.  The rear end we put in has a slight whine to it only because we added an extra shim for added strength so the drive shaft wouldn't bust on a takeoff.  i never did make it to the track as I couldn't risk damaging it and not having a ride to and from work.   The car has small rock chips on front bumper and hood from every day NY driving.

I babied this car. No one was allowed to eat, drink or smoke in it.  Its time for someone else to enjoy the car like I did.  She has always been garage kept.

What do you do with a fake Bugatti Veyron for $60k?

Tue, Mar 29 2016

Replica cars are a challenging labor of love because builders spend countless hours recreating a vehicle that people immediately compare to the real thing. Perhaps, the person behind this Mercury Cougar-based Bugatti Veyron should look for another way to pass that time. The coupe is currently for sale on eBay Motors for $59,900. The builder deserves some credit because the fiberglass body looks acceptable in the photos from farther away. The car might even fool a few people from a distance. However, the devil is in the details, and the closer you look, the worse this gets. The side intakes are especially rough. The red interior is atrocious. It's essentially the Cougar's cabin but in an eye-searing shade accented with lots of fake carbon fiber. The seller's eBay Motors ad really tries to market the look, though. "You slide in to [sic] this extremely comfortable leather interior and you feel like your bank account just quadrupled in size," the listing says. Don't expect to win any top speed titles in this Veyron replica, either. Rather than a mid-mounted quad-turbo W16, a 3.0-liter V6 from a Mercury Sable sits at the front. Thanks to an upgraded intake and exhaust, the seller claims, "It doesn't sound like your grandmas [sic] Sable." We wish the seller the best of luck, but the asking price of nearly $60,000 is probably too optimistic. We would still think twice about buying it even after taking a zero off that figure, but at least this thing is fun to look at. Related Video:

eBay Find of the Day: Craterface's '49 Mercury convertible from Grease

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Here is your chance to own your very own piece of greased lightning. Well, not the Greased Lighting, it's actually the black, flamed 1949 Mercury convertible that races against John Travolta in the classic 1978 movie Grease, and it's for auction on eBay Motors.
While it appeared in the film's exciting drag race in a Los Angeles storm drain, the hot rod was reportedly lost until last year, when the seller found it as a shell. He verified that it was the actual car with original builder, Eddie Paul, and sent the car for a complete restoration.
The auction includes original parts like the exhaust tips used in the movie and bent bumper from when it hit Travolta's car in the scene. The restorer recreated the scorpion stickers on the doors, razor hubcaps and license plate. He also installed a 1949 Mercury 255-cubic-inch (4.2-liter), flathead V8 and three-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.
