1967 Mercury Monterey 2 Dr Hdtp, New Built 390, Auto, 17"cobra Wheels. Marauder? on 2040-cars
Canyon, Texas, United States
1967 Mercury Monterey I have up for sale my 67 Mercury Monterey 2 door hardtop. It is a nice rust free Blvd. cruiser from dry west Texas. The odometer shows 26,999. It works, but I'm sure it has been around. It is not a show car but it is a nice driver that will turn heads. I have a clear Texas title in my name. First, the bad: It has a nice driver quality paint with a few blemishes. I would call it an 8 out of 10; The original upholstry has 2 small tears in the driver seat about 1 inch long; the dash is cracked, but has a cover; In dash tach does not work; ash tray is missing; needs new rear tires. Now, the good: Nice driver quality paint; new headliner, new carpet, original seat and door upholstry very nice; all gauges work; freshly built 390 bored .030 with all new internals, mild Comp cam, edelbrock aluminum intake and 4 bbl. carb and I have receipts; Freshly overhauled C6 auto with new 1800 stall converter (also have receipts); 18 inch Ford Cobra GT wheels. Engine and transmission have less than 500 miles since rebuild. 806-477-0418 If you have any questions please call me before you bid. I have described my car honestly so if there is any thing you are in doubt about please call me before you bid. Now, for the legal mumbo jumbo: your bid is a contract to buy this vehicle, not to come look at it and kick the tires. I welcome an inspection. Just do it before the auction ends. The car is for sale as is where is and any shipping is the buyers cost. I may be able to transport the car for you depending on your location and at a fee agreed to after purchase. I reserve the right to end auction early. I do not disclose my reserve, so please don't ask. However, you may call and make me a reasonable offer. $500 deposit due at auction close through PayPal. No exceptions. Thanks, and happy bidding
On May-30-14 at 14:56:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Correction: The Cobra wheels are 18" not 17 as stated. Sorry for the confusion. |

Watch as an out-of-control car demolishes gas pump
Tue, May 2 2017A Baltimore area man was fighting for his life Tuesday after crashing his car into a gas station. According to WBAL, the unidentified 64-year-old lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons around 4:55 a.m. May 1 in Parkville, Md. The 2007 Mercury Milan careened downhill, ramped over a curb, and smashed full-speed into a gas station pump. The car then flipped and came to rest against one of the station's canopy support pillars. Don Karbowniczek, owner of a service station across the street, told WBAL he was shocked there wasn't more damage. It's also surprising that the car even made it to the pumps, as it had to thread past a coin-op vacuum machine, the station's sign, a utility pole, and a traffic light pole. "It came right through, took some of our bushes out, just trimmed them for us, and how it got through and flip the way it did, I don't know. From what I see on the marks, it had to go airborne and just come down on the pump," Karbowniczek said. Thankfully there was no fire or explosion. Gas pumps have shear valves - safety devices that immediately cut the flow of gasoline when a pump is damaged. The driver was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, and was in critical condition. Police theorized the driver may have become stricken with a health issue when he lost control. Petrolicious shows Mercedes 280SL as architecture in motion
Wed, Jun 17 2015While still an absolute beauty today, the design of the pagoda-roof W113 Mercedes-Benz SL was revolutionary when it debuted. Moving away from the soft curves of the previous SL models, the all-new generation brought an upright, angular shape that was as much architectural as automotive. In the latest video from Petrolicious, owner and architect Daniel Monti expounds on the inspiration that he gets from his 1969 280SL's fantastic styling. The roof is the most famous design feature of this generation of SL. Look at the top from the front or back, and you can see a gentle, downward arc that evokes the look of a pagoda. That one styling element is also a fabulous counterpoint to a vehicle that is largely more angular than curvaceous. Petrolicious wonderfully illustrates how some of the SL's form-follows-function design aesthetic can be found in the architect's work in this video's heaping helping of mid-century modern goodness.
Ford Announces Free Brake-Pad Offer If Customers Stop By Dealers
Mon, Aug 4 2014These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers. "We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts. Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1. "This program reflects our commitment to providing customers with an excellent ownership experience regardless of the age of their vehicle," said Frederiek Toney, President of Ford Customer Service, in the company's announcement of the offer.
