Im selling my 1966 mercury s55 fastback automatic. It came from factory with emberglo metallic, was sent out from dearborn on 1/19/66 to La. Its a one of 2916, a marty report would show with color and options it could be one of maybe one hundred or less. It came with the c6 merc-o-matic pb, ac,ps. The car is complete and in great condition minus paint fade and a cracked dash. Engine was taken out for a fresh rebuild but has since sat in the garage. It ran great before it was taken out and was only went that far into after the brake booster needed rebuilding and we really thought about reliability.
The body is still in the original emberglo and has not a spot of rust showing anywhere on the car. Being a california car most of its life and at one point arizona, its completly rust free. These cars came with a Q code 428 which any ford lover knows is gold for a 1967 Q code mustang gt500 or 66 thunderbird 428. It has all the chrome most of which has no pitting or very little. The only thing you would need is one rear quarter s55 badge. Door code and fender tag are there and untouched aswell.
The last owner had it in a shed for 15 years and bought it from a lady out of arizona. My name is collin call me for info or pic email isnt as available to me. my number is 909 645 2895. For more info on the car like options and production #s heres the wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_S-55.
As a side note that wiki page was supposedly writen by the guy my wife and I bought the car off. He claimed to own the yellow convertable used as the wiki pic. I never saw it tho because when we bought the s55 off him it was in an airport hanger with about 15 other original unrestored 7ls in it.

NHTSA probing 2000-2003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models over throttle issue
Mon, 29 Oct 2012A potential issue with the speed control cable collar has got the 2003-20003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable under the spotlight of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If the collar breaks it can cause the throttle to be stuck open.
The issue is limited to vehicles with the 3.0-liter V6 Duratec. There are just 50 complaints so far out of 310,000 cars, but the NHTSA has begun an investigation into whether a recall should be issued.
Ford Announces Free Brake-Pad Offer If Customers Stop By Dealers
Mon, Aug 4 2014These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers. "We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts. Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1. "This program reflects our commitment to providing customers with an excellent ownership experience regardless of the age of their vehicle," said Frederiek Toney, President of Ford Customer Service, in the company's announcement of the offer. Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line
Wed, 05 Jan 2011The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.
