For sale is this nice 2009 Mercury Milan VOGA/PREMIER Package nice loaded with only 33K miles, front wheel drive, 2.3L 4 cyl engine and 6-speed automatic transmission. The car runs and drives perfect, absolutely no any issues mechanical or electrical, drives straight, no pulling to sides or any vibration at high speeds. Engine and transmission are in good shape, smooth and there are no leaks or smoke at all, also there is no warning lights on the dash. Factory features: power doors/windows/mirrors, power seat, ac, abs, side airbags, Driver door keypad entry, Fog lights, Heated mirrors, 6-CD MP3 player, cruise control, leather seats, SYNC, Bluetooth, Moonroof, Ambient lights with different colors to chose, USB and AUX port and other more features. Clean car in and out. The outside looks nice as pictured with no major dents and scratches. Tires are in good condition. Fresh oil and filter and ready to go next 3000 miles. eBay Find of the Day: Craterface's '49 Mercury convertible from Grease
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Here is your chance to own your very own piece of greased lightning. Well, not the Greased Lighting, it's actually the black, flamed 1949 Mercury convertible that races against John Travolta in the classic 1978 movie Grease, and it's for auction on eBay Motors.
While it appeared in the film's exciting drag race in a Los Angeles storm drain, the hot rod was reportedly lost until last year, when the seller found it as a shell. He verified that it was the actual car with original builder, Eddie Paul, and sent the car for a complete restoration.
The auction includes original parts like the exhaust tips used in the movie and bent bumper from when it hit Travolta's car in the scene. The restorer recreated the scorpion stickers on the doors, razor hubcaps and license plate. He also installed a 1949 Mercury 255-cubic-inch (4.2-liter), flathead V8 and three-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage
Mon, 03 Jan 2011The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception
Tue, 25 Sep 2012It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.
