2003 Mercury Grand Marquis

We are upgrading our fleet and selling off our older cars.  This does not mean they are bad, just that it is time for newer ones,  This is a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis Ultimate Edition. It is green with a tan interior. We have used this for transporting customers to and from airports. It runs great with no known mechanical issues. The AC works perfect. Sometimes the window button sticks and the power window may not work. This is a common issue and replacement buttons are available. It is inspected until December of 2013. We see no reason it would not pass inspection now, but we have not checked it recently.  There is a very small amount of rust on the left front wheel well, but none noted elsewhere. The battery is currently dead from sitting and we will replace it before you take it or you may take $100.00 off the price and bring your own. Please feel free to ask question.

We are selling this car to upgrade the fleet and keep pace with our competitors.  If not for that, we would keep maintaining and upgrading it and continue to use it.  It is sold "as is" with no warranty expressed or implied.  Please remember it is a ten year old vehicle with high mileage.  Although we have no fear driving it, we recommend having it shipped.  The vehicle is not in our way and may be stored at our location for up to thirty days at no cost to the buyer,

a $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end.  The balance is due within 7 days. These may be made by Paypal, credit card, cash or money order.  If using Paypal or Credit Card for the balance, a 3.5% surcharge will be added to help cover our costs.  All taxes, title, transfer, registration and shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer.   Please ask questions before bidding, as your bid is a legal and binding contract to purchase this limousine.  Buyers with 0 feedback are required to contact us PRIOR to bidding or your bid will be cancelled.

Thank you and Good Luck

Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.

Ford announces bevy of recalls, 2 of which are recalls on recalls

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.

Translogic drives wood-burning Mercury Beaver XR-7

Sun, 31 Jul 2011

You read the title right, we're talking about the Mercury Beaver XR-7. No, Mercury never officially built a car called the beaver. This is the brainchild of upstate New Yorker Chip Beam, who owns and operates Beaver Energy, LLC. It runs on gases created by wood pellets fermented in a 2,400-degree furnace and fed to a supercharged Ford 4.6-liter V8.
By all accounts, it gets down the road just fine, and has pretty close to full power. The best part is, you can grow the fuel yourself and avoid patronizing big oil, if that's your thing. The only drawback that we can see to the Mercury Beaver XR-7 is the PVC pipe jungle occupying the space that would be the trunk under normal circumstances.
Still, if you're willing to smell like a mountain man and look like a bad Back to the Future knockoff, this ride is right up your alley. Click past the jump to see Translogic's take on this modified Merc.
