1990 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park Wagon, Ls Trim, Leather, Rear Jump Seats on 2040-cars
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States
This week Canyon State Classics presents a beautiful 1990 Mercury Colony Park in great condition inside and out. This car was bought new in March of 1990 in Palmdale, Ca by its original owner who owned it until traded in with 54,000 miles in 2012. The car ended up for sale at Peoria Ford who put the car through their shop and sold it to the second owner here in Phoenix. The car has been driven only 700 miles in the last 2 years and has always been garaged! This wagon is fully loaded and in excellent condition. Don't miss your chance to own a true time capsule...bid now! The following is a list of options as this Mercury is currently equipped: -5.0L V8 Engine -Automatic Transmission w/ Overdrive -Power Windows -Power Door Locks -Power Tailgate Window -Optional Rear Jumpseats -Cruise Control -Automatic Headlamps -Ice Cold Air Conditioning -Am/Fm Radio Cassette w/ Premium Sound Option -Power Antenna -Power Seats -Optional Mercury Alloy Wheels -Michelin White Wall Tires The exterior on this car is straight as an arrow and totally solid. The paint on the car is finished in gorgeous original color of Midnight Black. This car is a totally solid, rust free car, and obviously never saw snow or salt. The underside of the rockers, quarters, fenders, and floor boards are solid as a rock, and the wheel wells look so clean, just the way a low mileage car should. All correct trim and emblems are present and in great shape. The chrome is all as nice as the day it left the Mercury dealer. Another nice thing about this car is the gorgeous, original wood decals and trim. I like the look and think it gives the car a clean, classy look. All of the glass is original and the windshield is crack-free. The car rides on four 15" Michelin whitewall tires which still have plenty of tread. The car also still retains its correct wheels and center caps which gives the car a very nice look. The interior is all original and in very good condition. The original leather seats are extremely soft and supple and look like new. Door panels Dash, and carpet are all original and in perfect condition. The odometer currently shows only 54,000mi, which is stated to be Actual miles by the Arizona title. The gas and brake pedal show no wear. The seats are in excellent condition with almost no ware. Under the hood is spotless and all original decals look like new. Power windows, locks, seat, antenna, wipers, and defog work correctly. The climate control is working correctly and the A/C blows ICE COLD. The cargo area interior is like new condition and has all of the original paint and original jump which looks very nice. The space saver spare is also still aboard as well as the jack and all original tools. Mechanically, this Mercury runs GREAT! This car features the 5.0L 302ci V8 (Similar to the Mustang). This car always starts right up and shifts so smooth it is difficult to feel the transition between gears. As I said before this car has just been gone through at 54,000 miles by a local Ford dealer prior to being put for sale, and had fluids drained, tuned up, belts and hoses checked, battery checked and the transmission and A/C serviced to make this car 100% roadworthy. Under the hood is very clean and all original. Even all the original yellow stamps are in place to show that there has been to tampering or re-paints. There is also original chalk marks visible in several locations. The car is also totally tight as a drum, with no fluid leaks whatsoever. The car tracks straight and rides and drives just like a new Mercury should! The car includes two sets of original keys, spare tire, jacking equipment, and the original manuals and dealer brochure. All in all, this is one of the nicest and most original Colony Park wagons left in existence. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners. These early 90?s era vehicles are becoming more and more collectible as the older ones disappear into collections, especially well maintained, super low mileage, cars like this. This Grand Marquis is the kind of condition you can enjoy every day or save it as an investment because with the kind of condition it is and its classic body lines, it is now and will forever be a classic. This car has a clean Arizona Title. Any further questions please call Jon at 480-703-2337. The car is located in Sunny Scottsdale, AZ! Mustang, Camaro, Challenger gallop onto USPS pony car postage stamp set
Tue, Jul 19 2022Some of America's most iconic cars are about to be immortalized on postage stamps. A new set by the U.S. Postal Service will celebrate the the golden era of pony cars, featuring five classic examples of Detroit iron. Each one is beautifully illustrated in oil-on-canvas style, with subjects in motion and sunlight glinting off the chrome, and would add a nice touch to any first-class letter. The pony car segment was all about (relatively) small, sporty alternatives to the full-size land yachts of the 1960s. They typically came equipped with 6-cylinder engines or small-block V8s. The category was named after the Ford Mustang, hence the name. Some, though, argue that the Plymouth Barracuda, which was launched a couple of weeks before the Mustang, is the first. Luckily, the Falcon-based Mustang's distinct styling generated a sales sensation, or we might be calling them fish cars. Appropriately, one of the featured cars is a Mustang. But it's not just any Mustang. The 1969 Boss 302, seen here resplendent in Bright Yellow, was created for the hotly-contested SCCA Trans-Am racing series. One of its main rivals would have been the 1969 Chevy Camaro Z/28, also created specifically for the series, and is included in the set in Fathom Green. Representing Auburn Hills in the set is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in Plum Crazy, while Southfield's American Motors gets a nod with an AMC Javelin in Big Bad Orange. The Mustang's platform cousin, a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7, is portrayed in a gorgeous Burgundy Poly that almost looks incomplete without Neko Case on the hood. It's not the first time the USPS has honored America's rich car culture on its stamps. In 2013, it issues a series of muscle car stamps with the help of Richard Petty. That set featured a 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1970 Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda and, of course, a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. Another set in 2016 featured classic pickup trucks. Going further back, a 2008 release had chroed and finned automobiles of the 1950s and a 2005 release featured sporty American cars of the same era. The pony car stamps will debut on August 25 at the Great American Stamp Show in Sacramento, California in partnership with the American Philatelic Society. The public is free to attend the dedication ceremony, but you must RSVP first. After that, they will be available at local post offices and on line at the USPS store.
Does Lincoln Zephyr trademark mean a return to real names?
Wed, May 25 2016Lincoln's long history includes many legendary names, and despite its short life, Zephyr retains a spot in that pantheon. Perhaps its will return once again: Ford Motor Co. applied to trademark Zephyr on May 11. Trademark filings can have ambiguous meanings, and often they're legal plays to get or keep the rights to a name. But in the last year, we've seen signs Lincoln is looking to use real names on its vehicles again. Obviously, it's keeping Navigator for its flagship sport-utility vehicle with a new model due next year. Reprising Continental for the MKS replacement was also well received. That said, Lincoln still uses the MKX and MKC "names" for its crossovers. Zephyr is a dustier moniker. It was used in the 1930s and '40s on a mid-level model spearheaded by Edsel Ford. The stylishly aerodynamic model was set between the Ford V8 De Luxe and more expensive Lincolns. It returned in 2006 as the Lincoln version of the Ford Fusion before that model was renamed MKZ. Mercury also used Zephyr on its version of the Ford Fairmont in the late 1970s and early '80s. Ford last held a trademark on the Zephyr name in 2013. The filing says Ford seeks to use Zephyr for "motor vehicles and parts and accessories therefor." That could mean a new car — or just parts. Putting the Zephyr badge back on the MKZ is the most likely bet. Meanwhile, Ford also moved to get the Thunderbird trademark on May 11 for the same vehicles and parts purpose, and it filed for the Mustang trademark for shampoo and lotions on May 4. A Lincoln spokesman said, "In the normal course of our business, we file trademarks for names," but had no further information. Related Video:
Ford finally issues recall for 230K minivans over rust problems
Sun, 10 Mar 2013The rust issue in the rear wheel wells of 2004-2007 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans has finally led to a recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began an investigation into the matter in 2011, said investigation being upgraded to an engineering analysis a year later while NHTSA tried to figure out how many model years should be included in the assessment.
Ford has decided to recall all of the 230,000 minivans potentially affected, namely those sold in salt-belt states and countries like Canada. The excess rust in the rear wheel wells was also able to prevent the third-row seats from locking to the floor of the minivan. To repair the problem, owners can take their minivans to dealers, and the dealers will place new panels in the wheel wells, replace the third-row seat mounting brackets and relocate the latches to an area away from any corrosion.
Ford says it will begin notifying owners during the last week of March.
