NO RESERVE!!! GREAT FIRST CAR! Just had twins and their car seats won't fit in the back. This has been my daily driver for the past 6 years. I bought it from a friend of mine 6 years ago and he had it for a while also. It has been a great car to both of us. This has been the best car I have ever owned!!! Never left me stranded or broke down never ever! Don't want to sell it but had to buy a 4 door for the twins. Its a 2000 mercury cougar, nice looking car, great first car or college car, car needs a little tlc like tune-up, front tires, back brakes and wiper motor(all cheap to fix). I do not want to put  money in it if I can not use it. Have to save for a van for my babies now. Has Ice cold AC, heat, and everything else you would need. Needs a good bath. I have been driving it back and forth to work for years (hour each way). its been sitting for 3-4 months now since I have been driving my mothers 4 door car until I buy my van. Someone buy it and love on it again!. Sad to see it leave. The car is as-is and will be missed very much! Please do not bid unless you are ready to buy it and pick up within 5 days of auction ending. Thanks and God bless. Highest bidder gets it. No Reserve!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE DO NO BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE CASH NOW! NOT WHEN YOUR REFUND CHECK COMES IN! THIS IS WHY I HAVE TO RE-LIST THIS ITEM AGAIN BECAUSE I WASTED A MONTH OF MY TIME WAITING ON SOMEONE WHO DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY!! GAVE ME 3 OR 4 EXCUSES AND STILL COULD NOT COME UP WITH THE MONEY! I HAVE TWIN ONE YEAR OLDS AND DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR EXCUSES!  PLEASE DO NOT BID AND WASTE MY TIME IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY RIGHT NOW!!!

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

eBay Find of the Day: Mercury Marauder two-door convertible

Wed, 31 Aug 2011

Never underestimate what you'll see on eBay Motors. Take this unique creation, for example. Near as we can tell, it's the same 2002 Mercury Marauder that was modified into a two-door convertible by Ford for the 2002 Chicago Auto Show. According to the seller, this car still boasts its Eaton supercharger bolted to a 4.6-liter V8 engine, and at the time of its debut, the engine was rated at a lofty 335 horsepower. We have a hard time believing that the extra ponies would do much to offset the weight of the additional frame stiffeners and top mechanism on the car, however.
The vehicle is currently offered for sale by a dealer in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, though the listing is mum on how the convertible managed to make its way from Ford's Windy City show stand into the seller's inventory. If you like what you see, the machine can be yours for the princely sum of $75,000 or best offer. Head over to eBay Motors to take a gander at the listing.

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
