I'M SELLING THIS CAR FOR MY SISTER AS A PARTS CAR, THERE IS NO TITLE. SHE MOVED DOWN SOUTH AND IS NOT GOING TO FINISH THE RESTORATION PROJECT THAT HER EX BOYFRIEND STARTED 10 YEARS AGO. IT USE TO BE A GOOD DRIVING CAR BEFORE HE STARTED TO TAKE IT APART AND WORK ON IT. WELL, THEY BROKE UP AND THE CAR WAS LEFT IN PIECES. I'M PRETTY SURE ALL THE PARTS ARE HERE. ALL THE PANELS APPEAR TO STILL BE IN VERY SOLID CONDITION. THE VINAL TOP WAS REMOVED YEARS AGO, SO THE ROOF LOOKS A LITTLE ROUGH, BUT NO MAJOR HOLES,IT LOOKS LIKE ITS ALL SURFACE RUST, A COUPLE VERY SMALL PIN HOLES, BUT THE METAL SEEMS VERY SOLID STILL. THE REAR GLASS WAS REMOVED IN THE PROCESS SO IT GOT WET INSIDE FROM TIME TO TIME, THE CAR WAS COVERED MOST OF THE TIME, BUT NOT ALL OF THE TIME. THE VINYL INTERIOR IS IN ROUGH CONDITION. I'M PRETTY SURE IT HAS THE ORIGINAL 289 V8 ENGINE. THE TOP PART OF THE ENGINE WAS TORN DOWN AND ALL THE PARTS ARE IN THE TRUNK ALONG WITH ALL THE EXTERIOR CHROME PIECES AND EMBLEMS. ALL THE GLASS IS IN GREAT CONDITION, NO CRACKS. THE PANELS ARE LINED UP NICELY AS WELL AS THE DOORS AND THEY OPEN AND CLOSE PERFECTLY, I DON'T THINK THE CAR WAS EVER IN AN ACCIDENT. CHECK OUT THE PICTURES, PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS, I WILL ANSWER THEM AS BEST AS POSSIBLE.

Report: Last Mercury for retail business built on Sunday
Mon, 04 Oct 2010Ford is already well into winding down its Mercury line, and the autoamker has announced that the very last of the soon-to-be dead brand's products built for retail sales was manufactured on Sunday, October 3. The final Mercury Mariner rolled off of the assembly line at the company's Kansas City facility, putting an end to a brand with over 70 years of history behind it.
Even after the Mariner heads off into the automotive sunset, Ford says that it will continue to manufacture a handful of Mercury models for fleet and government service for a while longer, though mum's the word on how long we can expect that practice to continue.
Interestingly enough, according to USA Today, most incentives on Mercury vehicles have all but dried up, even as the brand's August production increased by 120 percent compared to July's figures. Instead of cash on the hood, some areas are offering no-cost maintenance or similar programs. Even so, Mercury has continued to out-sell Lincoln right to the end - besting Ford's luxury arm's sales by nine percent in August.
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
What do you do with a fake Bugatti Veyron for $60k?
Tue, Mar 29 2016Replica cars are a challenging labor of love because builders spend countless hours recreating a vehicle that people immediately compare to the real thing. Perhaps, the person behind this Mercury Cougar-based Bugatti Veyron should look for another way to pass that time. The coupe is currently for sale on eBay Motors for $59,900. The builder deserves some credit because the fiberglass body looks acceptable in the photos from farther away. The car might even fool a few people from a distance. However, the devil is in the details, and the closer you look, the worse this gets. The side intakes are especially rough. The red interior is atrocious. It's essentially the Cougar's cabin but in an eye-searing shade accented with lots of fake carbon fiber. The seller's eBay Motors ad really tries to market the look, though. "You slide in to [sic] this extremely comfortable leather interior and you feel like your bank account just quadrupled in size," the listing says. Don't expect to win any top speed titles in this Veyron replica, either. Rather than a mid-mounted quad-turbo W16, a 3.0-liter V6 from a Mercury Sable sits at the front. Thanks to an upgraded intake and exhaust, the seller claims, "It doesn't sound like your grandmas [sic] Sable." We wish the seller the best of luck, but the asking price of nearly $60,000 is probably too optimistic. We would still think twice about buying it even after taking a zero off that figure, but at least this thing is fun to look at. Related Video:
