This a one of a kind 1975 mercury comet. It was part of previous owner family for a long time. It is a beauty ready to be restored by new owner. The car has mostly its original parts, and it was running and registered in 2008. This Mercury Comet is a restoration project with the right price. The car has some small rust in the body due to age, but easy to be repair. The car does not run due to whole in gas tank, and need of carburetor, but engine runs, and transmission is good. The engine type is 250 inline 6 cyl and has a good sound. I am not a mechanic, but when gas is added to carburetor, the engine sounds good. The car's ceiling needs some stitching. The passenger's door does not open. The floor panel has some rust, and driver's side has a small hole. The seats are original, but front seat has wore out.
The description of the car is up to my abilities, but as I stated before I am not a mechanic. Sold as it is, and sorry no refund. Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
NHTSA and Ford investigating steering issues in Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Marauder
Fri, 11 Jul 2014There may be more steering woes for the Ford Crown Victoria. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary evaluation into the Crown Vic and Mercury Grand Marquis from the 2004 to 2007 model years and the Mercury Marauder for the 2004 and 2005 model years because the steering shaft can jam. The issue could potentially affect an estimated 500,000 vehicles.
According to the regulator, there is a possibility that the driver's side heat shield for the exhaust manifold can rust, dislodge, and then wedge into the steering shaft. If this occurs, it leads to a situation where the driver can no longer control the car.
NHTSA has received five complaints of this happening, including one alleged case with an injury. In that situation, the car was driving onto the highway, lost control and rolled over. One occupant was hurt in the accident.
NHTSA closes probes on Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey
Wed, 09 Jan 2013The Detroit News reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially closed its investigations into 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2004-2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey models. The separate probes found no issues that pose safety concerns. NHTSA began investigating certain Grand Cherokee SUVs over complaints that power steering hoses could detach during operation, thereby increasing the risk of a vehicle fire. Of the 24 reports of failure, none alleged smoke or fire in the engine bay, and Chrysler has since modified the power steering cooler assembly to reduce the likelihood of the failure.
Meanwhile, certain Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey vehicles garnered a government probe after receiving complaints that the models were equipped with faulty scissor jacks. The agency had received six reports of the jacks failing or causing injuries, including one incident that resulted in a fatality. But NHTSA says the jack failure rate is similar to those found in other vehicles. In those six cases, the government agency found the jacks were being used for something other than changing a tire, and investigators could not determine whether the emergency brake was set or the rear tires were properly chocked.
