I have a rare 1964 Mercury cyclone for sale with the stock 289 K code engine , bucket seats ,center console, power steering, cyclone tachometer. This is a numbers matching car with original engine and matching Vin Numbers!

This car still has the original black plates from California that shows it has been in the same family most of it's life and in California all it's life.   This car is very solid with no rust on the quarters .floor pans, trunk  doors, underneath the doors or around the gas tank.

This cyclone is still all original with the Ford factory installed 289 k code engine that means it is a 289 engine with a factory installed 4 barrel manifold and 4 barrel carb.

Nothing has been modified or changed it still has the original drive train, engine, and rear end. It still has the original black bucket seat interior color . The exterior color was originally twilight turquoise with a black interior. So a black interior car with a turquoise exterior is a stunning and beautiful combo.

The car also has power steering and a dual exhaust for more power!

All the chrome is there , all the emblems are there nothing is missing or broken or missing, The bumpers are still good and bright not all bent up or rusty, The rocker moldings and wheel lip moldings are all there nothing is bent up or missing.  The cyclone door badges are there as well as the checkered flags and cyclone badges.  The car still has the original cyclone tachometer

If your looking for an all stock original unmodified true 1964 cyclone, with an easy restoration then this is it.   You can drive it as you work on it!

The car had been sitting in dry storage for many years so you would need to give it a complete tune up job, and fluid change.   The original  owner installed a new turn signal switch and did not hook up all the wires as well as the dash wires,so you will need to do that.

The engine sounds strong and does not knock, the power steering is working great and does not drip, The tranny does not leak nor slip out of gear.

The only work I have done after getting it from the original owners in dry storage was put on a new master cyclinder so the brakes work.  I also had to by pass the ignition switch since the original owner did not install the dash wires  or turn signal switch.

Other than those minor things it is an easy restoration project since it is a solid rust free car with the original black plates from california. You can paint the car and make it a show piece or drive it like it is, it still turns heads wherever she goes!

I have many  more pics to send so please email me or call me for more info 206 817 8387

Thanks and good luck bidding!

Ford recalls Five Hundred, Mercury Montego sedans over fuel tank woes

Mon, 18 Jul 2011

Ford has announced through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it is recalling nearly 3,000 examples of its Five Hundred and Mercury Montego (pictured) sedans from the 2007 model year.
The action, which affects 2,945 vehicles, is due to potentially defective welds between the filler neck and the fuel tank, a condition that could result in a fuel leak or the smell of gasoline reaching the occupants. In the worst-case scenario, a leak could cause a fire. Cars with the affected fuel tank problem could see an illuminated dashboard warning light as a result of the evaporative emissions leak being detected.
Ford will inspect and replace the fuel tank at no cost to owners (those who have already had the procedure done at-cost can apply for reimbursement), and the Dearborn automaker will begin notifying Five Hundred and Montego owners beginning August 15. Check out the official NHTSA press release after the jump for further details.

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

Ringbrothers shows off Coyote-powered 1968 Mercury Cougar

Thu, Feb 25 2021

We'll openly admit that not every SEMA build is our cup of tea. But this? A tastefully resto-modded 1968 Mercury Cougar with a 460-horsepower Ford Mustang V8? Yeah, this is right in our wheelhouse. Sadly, there was no in-pwerson SEMA show in 2020, so we missed out on gems like this one. SEMA or no SEMA, the aftermarket carries on, and co-owners Jim and Mike Ring of Ringbrothers (get it?) saw no reason to let their time and effort go to waste.  When they're not building wild customs (see: 1,100-horsepower 1972 AMC Javelin AMX) or more subtle showcases (such as this Cougar or their 1971 K5 Chevy Blazer build from 2018), the folks at Ringbrothers crank out factory reproduction parts, whether for old-fashioned restoration or modification purposes. While '60s muscle cars are recurring build subjects for the two, the Cougar was the first of its kind they tackled.  Keeping it in the family, Ringbrothers sourced a Ford 5.0-liter "Coyote" V8 and a 10-Speed Automatic (lifted from an F-150 Raptor, incidentally) for the build. They didn't stop with the driveline, of course. The suspension was overhauled with a little help from DSE and a set of HRE Series C1 C103 Forged 3-Piece wheels were thrown over upgraded brakes.  "We put our heart into each car we build, and this Cougar is no exception," Jim said. "The finished product is mild and classy, yet any enthusiast instantly knows it's not stock. I imagine this is what Mercury designers would have come up with if they were building the Cougar today." "While we couldn't bring the car to the SEMA Show, we hope it can be shown to the public soon," Mike said. "We had never done a Cougar before, so this was a fun build. I love working with new shapes and coming up with new ideas." There's plenty to appreciate about this Cougar apart from the mechanicals, too. The finish is Augusta Green Metallic (courtesy of BASF), which was a factory color in 1968. You may know it by another name: Highland Green. There are a few custom exterior touches, but they're quite subtle and styled to be period-correct. The interior was also restored and updated, and it's where you'll find the only thing we're not fond of: that big, fat truck shifter. Gearbox choices notwithstanding, it's a bit of an eyesore. But considering how gorgeous the rest is, we'll give it a pass.  Related Video:
