Up for sale this week is my own personal 1998 Mercedes Benz SLK 230 Kompressor.  This car only has 90,400 miles on it.... a true head turner!   I will do my utmost best to describe anything and everything , honestly and to the best of my ability.  However i am not a mechanic and i will not be held responsible for any missed details.  i full encourage any buyer to come and look at car, test drive it, view inside and out before buying.  With that said, i hope my FEEDBACK for 10 years on this site says alot.....  lets get to it!

Exterior:  I would give the exterior a 7 out of 10. The exterior is a sexy metalic blue, i belive it to be the original color and is in good condition.  There are some signs of re paint/overspray in a few sm spots. and it appears that maybe the front bumper was replaced at one time.  The nose is a little off where the lights meet up to the bumper and the lights themselves are 1 piece aftermarket. there are no fog lights on this car.  And there is a small molding missing on the drivers side lower front fender (prob 25$ at the dealership) The car could deff use a good buff and wetsand to get some minor imperfections out, but overall it is in great condition. please see all photos

Rims: This car came with stock 16" rims, i do not have them anymore, i did purchase the rims you see now about 3 months ago witch are 18" rims with 40' low profile tires.  3 of the tires are used and still have about 85% tread left, one of the tires is brand new is only 1 month old.  The rims are flawless overall id give them a 9 out of 10.

Interior: i would give the interior a 8 out of 10.  This is the original black on black interior.   The dash is great, the seats are great (very small tear starting in the center of drivers seat, about 1/2 inch) all power options work on the car, the carpets are clean, there is no other stains or smells (non smoker). Some of the center console finish is pealing a little... the car has an aftermarket cd player installed.

Engine/other: Id give this engine a 8 out of 10.  It has never done me wrong in the year ive owned it.  This is the reliable 4 cyl supercharged, rear wheel driven engine. Does not leak or burn anything, i have done mobile 1 oil changes since ive owned it.  all fluids are up to par and i just had an oil change on it last month.  The ABS light is on, and has been on since i owned it.  the brakes work flawless, so i saw no need to bring it to dealership, also the ASR light is on, (wich has a switch) i have been told that maybe the 2 of them co- inside with eachother.  i have no idea what the ASR light does??

Convertible Roof:  The roof works great on this car and has never failed me.  Every once in a while if you drive over a good size bump, the roof light will blink and you will hear a few beeps, then it goes away. Thats the only issue ive ever had.

I believe im the second or 3rd owner on the car, i bought it out of state so i do not know the history, and because i told you about the front bumper, it may or may not have been in a minor accident. i see no damage under the hood or under the car. This car does have a CLEAN TITLE ...please use your own judgment or purchase your own vehicle history report.  i can only tell you what i know since ive owned it.   i am an honest man who has sold everything from antiques to cars from video games to sports memorbilia.... i try my best to decribe it all, so there are no surprises and my customer is truly happy.  and hopefully my Feedback speaks volume.

The car is located in Bridgewater, MA 02324 if you need a shipping quote.  I require a 500$ paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction close, you then have 5 days to pay the remaining balance in full (thru paypal or cash in hand) and 7 days from end of auction to remove the car from my property.  If you cannot do any of this, please do not bid.  These terms are very important.  It is the buyers Responsibility to remove car by any means at there cost.  If car needs to be loaded onto a carrier i can help with that.  Also, if you live out of state and would like to fly in and pick car up and drive it home, i can assist with that as well (for a fee). My local airport is LOGAN airport in boston ma.  I am about 22 mins south of Boston. There is NO warranty expressed or implied on this car, like all used private party cars, you are buying the vehicle as is.  if you have any questions please ask BEFORE auction ends, not after.  thank you, as always NO RESERVE!   good luck!

2015 Spanish F1 Grand Prix makes its Deutsche mark

Mon, May 11 2015

The first race of the European Formula One season inaugurates the second phase of the Championship. Teams overhaul their cars with the big updates they've been working on since Australia, and at the end of The Battle of Spain we find out how the positions on the field have changed. Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver Nico Rosberg brought a big update to his psychology, straight-up beating teammate Lewis Hamilton to take his first pole position of the season. Mercedes owns the front row and Ferrari maintains its status as primary challenger, Sebastian Vettel lining up in third. Williams proved it's been hitting the books to do better in class, though, Valtteri Bottas slotting into fourth. And Toro Rosso's visit to a track that rewards strong aero rewarded them with the best team grid position since the Italian Grand Prix in 2008: Carlos Sainz secured fifth, ahead of Max Verstappen in sixth. Kimi Raikkonen's bout of Saturday woes – it seems the Finn is always handicapped by lots of tiny issues – continued in Barcelona with one of his sets of prime tires getting cooked by malfunctioning tire warmers. He recovered well enough to take seventh on the grid, but he's got some strong competition ahead of him. He led three other drivers in the Continuous Issues department, Daniil Kvyat unable to wrestle his Infiniti Red Bull Racing higher than eighth, Williams driver Felipe Massa getting it wrong in Turn 3 to fall five places behind his teammate Bottas, and Daniel Ricciardo in the second Red Bull enduring another engine change and sloppy car behavior to get tenth. And while it turned out to be a steady race a little rough around the edges, the positions on the battlefield just might have changed. A little. Of the 66 laps in the race we might have seen Rosberg for three of them – maybe. The German got a smashing start, had a clear lead into Turn 1, and after that we checked in occasionally during his two pit stops and again at the checkered flag. He owned the entire weekend the way we're used to seeing his teammate do, and the cameras left him alone to run his race. No one got within seven seconds of him during the first third, and as the pit stop strategies played out that cushion grew. He finished seventeen seconds ahead of Hamilton, and 45 seconds ahead of third-placed Vettel. Hamilton, on the back foot all three days, stumbled out of the gate.

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
