Description

2006 Mercedes SL55
Exterior: Black
Interior: Grey
Mileage: approx. 59,000 miles
VIN number: WDBSK74FX6F117390

I hate to do it, but it is time to sell my baby.  I am not a dealer, broker and I am not selling this for a friend.

This sl55 is my pride and joy.  This is my 3rd sl55 and it took me 8 months to find this car.

I live in northern Kentucky and bought it from a car collector in Oregon in early 2012.

This car has been meticulously maintained and is my daily driver:

•    It has already had a pre-sale inspection from my local Bosch dealer and everything checked out.

•    Of course it has had the expected oil changes and routine maintenance, but also the 50k major service.

•    Front brakes and rotors were replaced 200 miles ago.

Options include:

•    PANO roof, Keyless entry and start.

•    It also has the heated AND cooled seats.

•    Exterior is in great shape with no dents or dings or noticeable scratches and the interior is very clean with no tears or rips in the leather.

•    All suede on the interior is perfect and everything works.

•    I had the factory wheels professionally powder coated black to match the car and the brake calipers powder coated red as well with the AMG logo painted black on the calipers.

•    I spent a RIDICULOUS amount of money and upgraded the factory stereo (it is still the factory unit) with a top of the line amplifier and a custom made, speaker (sub) enclosure which was custom built to match the interior.  It is located behind the seats where the storage units were.  I still have those storage units and they will be included with this sale if for any reason you wanted to remove the custom box and put those back in.  It is VERY classy and it was worth every penny.  When the top is down, the sound it produces is incredible that is not obnoxious and very high quality.  When the top is up, it sounds like you are listening to your favorite song live in concert.

I am a 44-year-old professional, non-smoking car fanatic.  The car has NEVER been abused and is garaged daily.  It is professionally washed and cleaned weekly and detailed monthly.  When the new owner receives it, it will have a fresh detail.  Mechanically the car is perfect and needs nothing at all.

This is an accident-free supercar that will exceed your expectations.  YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Mercedes-AMG GT attacks Circuit of the Americas

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Mercedes-Benz is having a banner year with its Formula One team. Through 2014, the constructor has 454 championship points; ahead of its nearest competitor (Red Bull-Renault) by a margin of 182 tally marks. We're sure they can almost taste the champagne.
It's fitting then, and a little big cocky in a good way, that Mercedes has released a video of its newest sports car at an F1 venue. In this case, the car is the lovely Mercedes-AMG GT S, and the racetrack is Austin's Circuit of the Americas.
Having seen the official photo set and scratched the surface of the technical specifications earlier this week, we're excited to finally hear the thing run. As you might guess, the deployment of 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque from the twin-turbo V8 is a motivating experience. Crank up your volume, and hit that play button. (Oh, and Mercedes shot the thing in 4K, too, so those of you with expensive televisions/monitors should take heed to the settings.)

Mercedes takes VW Westfalia Camper idea upscale with new Marco Polo

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz revealed the new V-Class. Slotting in below the popular Sprinter, the new V-Class replaced both the Viano and Vito upon its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. But Mercedes isn't quite done with it just yet. At the upcoming Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Germany, Mercedes will reveal the Marco Polo - a versatile, stylish and decidedly contemporary take on the classic camper van.
Named after the famous Italian explorer, the Marco Polo was converted by Westfalia, an outfit which you might more closely associate with classic VW camper vans but which Daimler absorbed over a decade ago. Offering, according to the press release below, "a maximum of opportunities to be independent, free and spontaneous," the Marco Polo sleeps four thanks to the rear bench that electrically folds flat into a bed and the second berth under the pop-top. The flexible interior is decked out like you'd expect a modern Mercedes to be, with ambient LED lighting as well as wood, metal and piano black trim.
It's got an onboard kitchenette with two gas burners, a sink and fridge with a 10 gallons of fresh water and an even bigger waste tank. All that gear is shlepped around by a choice of four-cylinder turbodiesel engines ranging in output from 136 to 190 horsepower. The relatively compact form boasts a turning circle similar to a full-size sedan and a height designed to fit into most garages and car washes. All of which just might make us reconsider the appeal of traveling by camper van.

2015 Mexican Grand Prix is a lot like old times

Mon, Nov 2 2015

The last time Formula One visited Mexico, in 1992, 26 cars powered by eight engine manufacturers (counting Honda and Mugen-Honda separately) lined up on the grid; it would have been nine engine makers but the Brabham-Judd cars failed to qualify. In 1992 Lewis Hamilton was seven years old, Sebastian Vettel was five, Max Verstappen was still five years away from being born. Two of the current Sky Sports F1 commentary team, Martin Brundle and Johnny Herbert, were drivers. The starting three were Nigel Mansell on pole – 39 years old, this the year he'd win his only World Championship Β– and Riccardo Patrese both driving Williams-Renault cars, followed by Michael Schumacher in a Benetton-Ford. Only 13 of the 26 starters would finish. The circuit is has been reworked to today's safer standards, the track surface is brand new and slippery, but the atmosphere and packed grandstands haven't changed. Nico Rosberg was another point of consistency, scoring pole position for the fourth race in a row to beat his now-World-Champion teammate Hamilton by almost two-tenths of a second. The last time Rosberg turned pole position into a victory? The Spanish Grand Prix back in May. Vettel locked up third for Ferrari, followed by the Infiniti Red Bull Racing duo of Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo. Williams went two-up as well, Valtteri Bottas in sixth ahead of Felipe Massa in seventh. Max Verstappen turned in a great late lap to reserve eighth place, Sergio Perez did all he could in front of his home crowd to get ninth, teammate Nico Hulkenberg the caboose in the top ten. In that 1992 race the first three on the grid finished the race in the same order after Mansell dominated, and it was almost the same in 2015. If Rosberg had driven the whole season like he drove today the Driver's World Championship would still be up for grabs. He got a great start and held his line through the first corner, coming out ahead of Hamilton through the initial kinks, pulling away as soon as he got to the straight. Hamilton was never more than a few seconds behind, but every time the Brit inched closer the German found a few more tenths to keep his distance. The field got bunched up when the Safety Car came out on Lap 53 after Vettel spun and got stuck in the barriers, but Rosberg handled the restart perfectly. Both drivers made small mistakes in the last few laps while driving on the edge, but Rosberg earned a strong victory, crossing the line two seconds ahead of his teammate.
