2004 Mercedes Benz SL500 Agean Blue Convertible AMG Sports package MB SL Class

Please inspect vehicle before making any payments :)

  • As of 06/12/2013 has 78,845 miles
  • Check out my mileage picture: 25.9 MPG with 173 miles of driving, I of course reached this driving about 65 MPH (pic shows ave MPH 54). This is the best I ever reached, back in 2008, but is testimony to the great 7 speed tranny this car has :)
  • This car was MSRP $137,000 when it was brand new
  • Not an AMG but has the AMG Sports Package - hey the prior owner added an AMG emblem onto the right rear of the trunk lid but this is a two tailpipe exhaust rather than the AMG four and does not have the AMG engine.
  • Rare combination of beautiful Agean Blue exterior, tan interior, and the awesome glass Pano Roof that has shades to protect you from the sunny days - that is when you aren't driving with the top down!
  • This SL500 is still under extended warranty until June 2013. So whatever needed to be done was done at the dealership with original parts. No aftermarket parts on the car except brakes and trunk lifts.
  • Did you see the upgraded Mercedes 18" Chrome Rims on front 255/40/18 and rear 285/35/18 tires? A sight to see.
  • Engine: 8 CYLINDER; Transmission: 7 speed Automatic; BodyType: Convertible;
  • This Car has every single option except distronic and seat fans which are also very rare to find.
  • Keyless Remote, keyless entry, keyless engine start and driving!
  • Leather Steering wheel with power adjustments and Radio controls and Woodgrain Trim.
  • Leather wrapped dashboard with Woodgrain Interior Trim.
  • Shifter is also leather with Woodgrain Interior Trim.

Watch these Super Bowl car commercials [UPDATE]

    Sat, Feb 2 2019

On Sunday, February 3, the New England Patriots take on the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl 53 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Some will watch because of the storyline of the old-school dynasty facing off against the new-school wunderkinds, but a large chunk of people will solely be watching for the commercials. Lucky for those who slot into the latter category, many of the manufacturers release their super bowl ads ahead of time, or have simply opted to release the commercials only online. Scroll down to see what car companies have already shown their cards. Audi Audi goes the comedic route in its clip for the Big Game. It starts with a grandpa showing his grandson a gorgeous Audi e-tron GT tucked away in a garage before he's shaken awake. Turns out he was just choking on a cashew in his cubicle at his boring job. Dodge Dodge does what it knows: create enough smoke to punch more holes in the ozone layer. Set to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia (the Super Bowl is in Atlanta, get it!?), a Challenger SRT Hellcat widebody, Charger SRT Hellcat, and Durango SRT are seen ripping through a city, leaving a trail of rubber crumbs in their wakes. Genesis Genesis has not yet released a commercial prior to the Super Bowl, but it is the official luxury vehicle of the NFL. Because of this, Genesis is hosting a fan experience for 10 days before the game. It will showcase the brand's cars, offer games, and have photos opportunities and autograph days. Hyundai Jason Bateman alert! Hyundai is one of the few companies to hook a major celebrity for its advertisement, and the casting is perfect. Bateman plays a doorman who takes people to various terrible events in life, including root canals, the middle seat, and shopping for a car. The ad centers around Hyundai's Shopper Assurance, which is Hyundai's new method for car shopping. Jeep An old 1963 Jeep Gladiator finds its strength in the crusher and transforms into a a new 2020 Gladiator, with a firm declaration that the nameplate is officially back. Kia Through Kia's commercial, a young boy wonders out loud what it'd be like if the millions spent on Super Bowl commercials were used to help others.

Aston or Bust? Maybach's fate to be decided next month

2011 Maybach 62 - Click above for high-res image gallery
What will become of Maybach? That question has been rattling around the halls of Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart for some time now. But all questions will be answered, and answered soon: according to reports, the German automaker is currently evaluating prototypes and propositions for its top-end marque, and will make its decision next month.
So, what are the options? On the one hand, Daimler could kill the Maybach brand altogether. It was a notion ill conceived and even more poorly executed, taking an old platform and building a new flagship atop it. In that way, it was sort of like the Chrysler Crossfire, only far more costly to both the buyer and manufacturer. On the other hand, Daimler could opt for the long-time-coming proposition of contracting the production (and possibly much of the development) of a new generation of Maybachs to Aston Martin.

Mercedes Alabama ops ordered to allow workers to discuss unionization

    Wed, Dec 3 2014

A decision last week by the National Labor Relations Board has bolstered the efforts of the United Auto Workers at Mercedes-Benz's Tuscaloosa, AL factory, as the union continues its attempts to represent the factory's workers. According to Reuters, the NLRB ruled that Mercedes-Benz US International, the proper name of the company behind the Tuscaloosa factory, can no longer prevent workers from discussing unionization in work areas while off the clock. While MBUSI maintains that it's not taking a side on unionization and that it wants the "the decision left to our team members," the UAW is still arguing that the US facility should take the same position on unions that the rest the world's Mercedes-Benz plants take and. Speaking to Reuters, the UAW says that stance "acknowledges the human right to form trade unions" and "respects the right of collective bargaining." According to Reuters, the Alabama factory employs 3,500 workers – 2,500 full time and 1,000 "temporary" – and is the only Daimler-owned factory on the planet not to offer employees the opportunity for representation. Presently, the Tuscaloosa facility assembles Mercedes' C-Class, GL-Class and M-Class vehicles.
