I'm selling my 1999 SL Mercedes convertible.  I got a ride in the car when it was brand new!  My best friend purchased the car new for his wife in 1999.  They sold me the car in 2004 or 05 with around 10,000 miles on it.  His wife hated it because it has such a sporty ride (AMG suspension and wheels).  It doesn't float, this car grabs the road and has amazing power.  I sold the car a couple years later to my lady friend in San Dimas, CA with approximately 14,000 miles on it.  She had her hip replaced last year, and it was difficult for her to get in and out of it, so I bought it back in March with approximately 34,000 miles on it.  I have enjoyed having it back, but I just bought a new car this week and need the room.

I have the original hard top, which is also in perfect condition and stored in my garage on a stand made to hold these hard tops.  I will include it in the sale as well.  I am happy to send photos of it to anyone that requests them.  Sorry, I couldn't post a photo of the car with the hard top, but it takes 2 people to put it on.  I also have the factory keys, 2 remote keys and a valet key.

The car has NEVER been smoked in, always garaged and hand washed.  It has also only had Mobile 1 synthetic oil it's whole life.

The brakes are fairly recent, as are the tires.  I recently had the mass air flow sensor replaced, and it has a new gas cap too.  The mechanic that worked on it said the engine is perfect as are the motor mounts.  My friend in California also had the AC compressor replaced.  The AC works awesome, as does everything on this car.

There are no major cosmetic issues.  There is some normal wear and tear on a car of its age including: 2 small paint chips around the area where the gas goes in, there is a crack and a scrape to the underside of the front bumper - caused from pulling too close to those concrete things in a parking lot and then backing out.  I though about having that repaired, but frankly you cannot see it unless you're on the ground looking up.  The floor mats are fairly new, dark brown color so they show no dirt.  The leather is soft and supple, showing little if any sign of wear.  The car is in overall fabulous condition.  I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with it.  This would be awesome for someone back east, as the car has never been driven in snow or ice and not even purposely in the rain!  Although, I will admit it's been rained on twice that I know of.

I think I've covered everything, but if you have any questions, I'll be happy to assist in any way I can.

As far as shipping goes, the buyer will be responsible and I will cooperate and assist moving company.  OR you can pick it up yourself if you like.  I would be happy to pick you up at the airport and you can drive it home.

Serious buyers, please.  Thank you.  Certified funds only.  PayPal deposit required.

Missouri Mercedes dealer offering free Smart with every SLS AMG purchase

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT is an exquisite sports car that probably needs no help flying off dealer lots, even with a starting price of almost $200,000, but Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City has come up with an interesting incentive to sweeten the deal. For buyers who purchase a new SLS AMG from dealer stock before the end of the year, the dealership is throwing in a new Smart Fortwo from its inventory at no charge... with a required coupon no less.
In addition to being a great tactic to get a little free press, the spare car also makes sense as an alternative to the SLS, which measures more than 15-feet long - almost twice the length of a Fortwo - and has a 563-horsepower engine that sucks down gas at the rate of 13 miles per gallon in city driving (and even that's provided you don't give in to the devil on your shoulder). Plus, at the end of the day, this really isn't that big of an incentive. Being given a slow-selling $12,490 car for the purchase of a model starting at $199,500 represents about a six percent incentive, which is along the lines of a $1,900 rebate for a $30,000 car.
To get the free Smart, just visit the Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City Facebook page, redeem the coupon and then go buy yourself a new SLS AMG. Congratulations!

2014 Mercedes S-Class priced lower from $92,900*

Mon, 09 Sep 2013

The massively overhauled 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will start at $92,900, not including a $925 destination fee, when it arrives at US dealers in October. That's a 2.8-percent drop over the 2013 S-Class, although Mercedes is fast to point out that a drop in price doesn't equate with a drop in equipment for the executive sedan.
Besides an extra 20 horsepower from the 4.6-liter, biturbocharged V8, the S550 sports a standard panoramic sunroof, keyless start, a rear-view camera and LED headlights, taillights and interior lights. Adding the German manufacturer's 4Matic all-wheel-drive system bumps the S550's price up to $95,900.
If the S550 doesn't quite cut the mustard, you can wait until November, at which point Mercedes will quite happily sell you the new S63 AMG 4Matic for $139,500. Power is also up on the S63, from a max of 563 ponies with an AMG Performance Package to 577 horsepower as standard on the 2014 model.
