1993 Mercedes-benz 500sl Sl500 Roadster-like 94 95 96 97 98 99 00 01 02 on 2040-cars
Santa Ana, California, United States
You are viewing the cleanest '93 California car on the market - purchased new in California and never left, so no rust or road marks from bad weather. It's finished in the
original beige metallic exterior with a slightly darker beige on the bottom.
The exterior features the factory "chromed" upgrade wheels. The
mileage on this world class roadster is the lowest you'll find anywhere - look
around. It has only been driven a total of 64,200 since it was purchase back in
1992 from the first owner - I am the second owner of this car. I've included the car fax along with the photos. The only one flaw happened about a year ago, the hard top cart scraped against the left rear fender marking ever so slightly (no dent), just a light scratch, easily repairable (see photo). The interior shows no age of being 20 years old - there are hardly any cracks in the leather (see photos) as this car has always been garaged - the center wood portion of the dash has a typical small crack, again no big deal, it's very minor and very common among these cars (see photos). Inside and out - this '93 Mercedes Benz SL500 Roadster is immaculate. No dings, no scratches - the paint is original, never been touched up or refinished in any way, and is free from any sign of age - literally it's as clean as most newer cars, there is zero oxidation so I can assure you the finish is superb. This car has been waxed more times than I car to admit. (look at the photos) The interior is all original and beige in color - equally as clean as the exterior. The leather seats nearly no sign of wear anyplace (see photos). The leather is supple and look nearly new. Stitching is like new - I promise you won't be disappointed, as you won't find a cleaner '93 SL500 Roadster anywhere. I've personally owned the car for the past 5 years, of which I put on only 4,000 delicate miles on the car - the car has been thoroughly maintained and serviced over the years - I recently changed the battery, installed a new rear view mirror switch and above all that had the alignment check to insure everything is flawless for the new owner. Everything works perfectly, including the top, brakes and engine - I promise the new owner I'm passing on an incredible gem, one that rarely comes around. I'm pretty firm on my price, as the car needs nothing and drives like a dream literally - so please, serious bidders only - if you're looking to the finest '93 SL500 on the market, look no further, you found it here - I do have a clean car fax available |

2014 Mercedes S-Class priced lower from $92,900*
Mon, 09 Sep 2013The massively overhauled 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will start at $92,900, not including a $925 destination fee, when it arrives at US dealers in October. That's a 2.8-percent drop over the 2013 S-Class, although Mercedes is fast to point out that a drop in price doesn't equate with a drop in equipment for the executive sedan.
Besides an extra 20 horsepower from the 4.6-liter, biturbocharged V8, the S550 sports a standard panoramic sunroof, keyless start, a rear-view camera and LED headlights, taillights and interior lights. Adding the German manufacturer's 4Matic all-wheel-drive system bumps the S550's price up to $95,900.
If the S550 doesn't quite cut the mustard, you can wait until November, at which point Mercedes will quite happily sell you the new S63 AMG 4Matic for $139,500. Power is also up on the S63, from a max of 563 ponies with an AMG Performance Package to 577 horsepower as standard on the 2014 model.
2016 Japanese Grand Prix | Hamilton faces the beginning of the end
Mon, Oct 10 2016We're told the Japanese mamushi viper haunts the undergrowth around Suzuka. If the pit viper attended the weekend's Japanese Grand Prix, it avoided human visitors but it put a nasty bite on Lewis Hamilton's championship hopes. The Briton, lined up second on the grid next to Mercedes-AMG Petronas teammate Nico Rosberg, flubbed his start. By the end of Turn 1 Hamilton was in eighth. Hamilton didn't suffer alone. The beginning of the race was a melee; many of the leaders got caught out either by the damp track or by having to swerve around slow starters. Only Mercedes' Nico Rosberg and Red Bull's Max Verstappen took off clean. The German rolled up another lights-to-flag victory despite the pass-happy race happening behind him. Rosberg was as unbothered by the Dutchman in second place as he was by the official Formula 1 camera feed. Verstappen didn't have much work to do until the final ten laps of the race. Thanks to the Mercedes team's strategy – or Ferrari waiting too long to pit – Hamilton got up to third on Lap 36 of 53. Unable to make a DRS-enabled pass on Verstappen down the front straight toward the end of the race, the Mercedes driver took a creative line through Spoon corner. Closing in down the back straight, Hamilton jinked inside to try a pass through the final chicane. Verstappen moved over in the braking zone while Hamilton was still behind him, closing the door on the move. Hamilton protested over his team radio, but seemed resigned to a third place finish after the incident – he didn't try any more passes in the final laps. The Ferrari duo of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen crossed the line fourth and fifth, respectively, in recovery drives after penalties. The scuderia tried an aggressive final stint after Hamilton successfully undercut Vettel in the pits. Ferrari put Vettel on the soft-compound Pirellis so he could hunt the Mercedes, but after a few laps of close pursuit the tires gave up and Vettel fell back. Daniel Ricciardo couldn't get comfortable in his Red Bull the entire weekend. The Aussie finished where he started, in sixth place. Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg followed the Red Bull home in two-up formation for Force India, Williams doing the same in the final two points-paying positions with Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas. Rosberg's 23rd career victory – his ninth of the season and first ever in Japan – puts him 33 points ahead of Hamilton in the Driver's Championship with four races left.
