This classic vehicle has been well maintained by the owner and by a local Mercedes Benz specialist. It has had all maintenance done over the years to keep it in top shape. The drivers seat and arm rest were replaced with original-style leather. The convertible top is new. The windshield is new. All running systems are up to snuff; tires, brakes, ignition, charging, etc. Complete service records are available, the latest significant repair was a complete transmission rebuild in 2012.
The paint has not been modified, it is original. It shows some signs of wear and mild spots of attack by occasional bird droppings. It has never been in an accident. The only body repairs were to the rocker panels because of slight body cancer. No traces remain.
The sound system is an Alpine iDA-X001 with MP3 input and 12" woofer, 2-6" mid-range and 2 tweeters. It is excellent quality and discreetly installed. The amplifiers are located under the rear package shelf and the woofer is built above the rear package shelf with a new identical package shelf above it. The mid range speakers face the front and are located in the panel between rear cab and trunk. The alarm system is a trouble-free, upgraded Clifford system with 2 key fobs.
We bought the car with 78,800 miles on it in 1995. Most of the mileage has been accrued by my wife using the car on a daily basis. We believe we are the third owners of the car. And that it was on the east coast for it's early years.
Imperfections: Missing an MB hub cap, some 'tracking' in the trunk paint, some small spots in the right rear fender paint, rub mark in the new seat cover, typical crack in the dashboard padding, rub marks in the chrome finish of the rear bumper from previous owners. Nothing too noticeable.
It's a very spiffy car and very enjoyable to drive; good visibility, amazing power, maneuverability, solid feel, and solidly built. It was my wife's dream car. Now she has purchased a new BMW dream car and we are parting with this wonderful classic automobile. We have priced it a roughly mid-range NAD book value for a a car of its quality and condition.

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites
Sun, Jan 7 2024Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class interior caught in spy shots
Tue, 29 Jan 2013With the redesigned 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class getting closer to production, the camera-wielding crew over at Autospies somehow managed to get inside of the car to snap some detailed spy shots. As the prototypes continue to shed camouflage, it would appear that Mercedes-Benz is getting closer to unveiling the car, and with the Geneva and New York auto shows coming up, it could be sooner rather than later.
From what we can see of this car's interior, the overall look of the S-Class' cabin isn't a ground-breaking departure from the current car, but it has been completely redesigned with more advanced technology. The styling is now even more upscale with larger swaths of wood, more shapely door panels (without the built-in armrest cubbies) and the concept-like two-spoke steering wheel. The highlight of this car though is probably the two massive digital screens with one being used for driver information and the other used for navigation, audio and infotainment systems. One other detail we noticed about this car is that it was equipped with the new 360-degree camera that debuted on the new GL-Class and will also be used on the 2014 E-Class. We also know that the next-gen S-Class will be getting the new cloud-based MBrace2 infotainment system.
As for the exterior design, it looks like the next S-Class will carry a similar profile as the current car, but we can see through the camouflage that the new styling will fit in better with current Mercedes-Benz products. Up front, the grille is much larger is flanked by aggressive LED-trimmed headlights, while the rear view of the car shows us the LED brake light now at the top of the rear window, a more pointed trunk opening and a more squared-off rear fascia with exhaust outlets pushed to the corners.
