2002 Mercedes-benz G500 Base Sport Utility 4-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
Norman, Oklahoma, United States
Very nice 2002 G500. Looks like new inside. Very nice outside. Very low miles. Black leather interior very nice. Carpets and covers are in great shape. Heated front and rear seats. Heated side mirrors. Sunroof. DVD, CD AM/FM, iPod port. Rear subwoofer. Near new (5) Geolander Tires. Recent AC service (blows nice and cold). Front seats electric adjust with memory. Push button 4X4. X-tra bright (white, not blue) headlamps. Non-smoker, non-pet G500. Clean under hood. Clean undercarriage. No rust. No wrecks. Paint recently touched-up professionally. Serviced at local MB dealership. Oil and filters changed at 5000 mile intervals. Castroil Synthetic and Wix oil and air filters, MB fresh air filter. I use only Shell Premium (no alcohol) gas. Dealership did 4X4 service. Recent plugs and wires. Very nice interior and exterior. This G500 has been all over the Continental Divide in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana and never had a problem. Has always gone where I pointed it. Has power when you need it. Great around town or on long trips. Has FREE road hazard service from MB. Just call 800 number. This one is really nice; just not new. If you want new, add $100,000.00 to the price that this one will sell for but you won't have a better G500. No known issues. Dash shows an error for missing onboard cell phone that was removed before I bought this one. There are lots of Black, Silver and White ones out there. I have never seen another Burgundy one other than this one. Turns heads every day. You won't be disappointed. Drive it anywhere. I have. The nicest car I have ever owned. Low reserve. $500.00 deposit within 24 hours. Balance in Chasier's Check in 3 Days. Car and Title will be released after funds clear. I will make car available to shipper but shipping is Buyer's responsibility. Bid with confidence. No warranty expressed or implied. After listing I noticed that an Accident shows up on the Report. I dispute this claim. The car has not been in Texas since I bought it in 2009. I know that it wasn't involved in an accident in May of 2013 in Texas. It was in my driveway all summer. As far as I know there is nothing that I can do regarding this erroneous claim. Also, I believe that I am the 3rd owner. One Florida owner, one Texas owner, and then me. I am selling a set (5) of 20' chrome wheels and tires that came new on the G500 when I bought it. They have about 350 miles on them. I will post pics soon. |

Rain prolongs the Championship battle | 2016 Brazilian Grand Prix recap
Mon, Nov 14 2016Rain and an old-school circuit are the antidotes to Formula 1's constricting technical regulations and Tilke tracks. At Brazil's Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace – otherwise known as Interlagos – rain Saturday night and on race day washed away everyone's careful plans, except for those of the man at the front of the pack. Lewis Hamilton put his Mercedes-AMG Petronas ahead of the field throughout the weekend. On Sunday, a storm-delayed start behind the Safety Car assured Hamilton of a clean path to the lead and a clear track. The Briton didn't waste it, pulling out a gap on teammate Nico Rosberg behind, and Rosberg appeared to have no interest in going hard after Hamilton. Safety Cars and red flags kept resetting the gap to zero, though. After the Mercedes-AMG GT S led the first seven laps, it emerged again on Lap 13 for another six laps when Marcus Ericsson crashed his Sauber. Seconds after racing resumed, Kimi Raikkonen aquaplaned his Ferrari into the wall on the front straight. That caused the first red flag, leading to another eight-lap Safety Car interval, then a second red flag stoppage due to conditions on Lap 28, then three more Safety Car laps, and then, finally, racing again. Hamilton never surrendered his lead. The Briton changed tires once during a stoppage, and drove fast enough to cover the full race distance despite the intermissions. Afterward, he said "it was a very easy race." Rosberg had it harder, defending against the preternatural Max Verstappen in third. Barring misfortune it's already clear the Red Bull pilot has at least one Driver's Championship in his career future. In Brazil the young Dutchman drove like he's worthy of the hardware right now. After Verstappen passed Rosberg for second on Lap 34, the Red Bull driver pitted for intermediate tires on Lap 44 – a huge gamble in the conditions – coming back out in fifth. That tire wager failed, giving Rosberg a safe position in second when Verstappen had to pit for extreme wets on Lap 54 of 71. The teenager re-emerged in 16th. Over the race's final 17 laps Verstappen passed 13 drivers at six different places on track. He ran it close-but-clean a couple of times, especially when getting around Sebastian Vettel and Sergio Perez, but he was simply untouchable. Not only did the Dutchman score an amazing third place, he put in what could be the drive of the season.
Daimler: 2017 the right time to launch our hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle
Tue, Jul 22 2014Zero-emissions vehicle development has never focused purely on off-the-line acceleration. So when a research executive with Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler says it's Okay that companies like Toyota and Hyundai will have a head start selling hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle, it's somewhat believable. But is Daimler really fine with being two years behind? It appears so. Daimler plans on debuting its first fuel-cell vehicle in 2017, Automotive News says, citing an interview Automobilwoche had with Daimler's corporate research chief Herbert Kohler. The German automaker estimated about a decade ago that it would be able to get fuel-cell production costs down to an "acceptable" level in 2012, but it turns out that estimate was about five years too aggressive. Daimler originally started leasing out a limited number of its F-Cell hydrogen vehicles in the US for $849 a month, though later brought that down to $599 a month. Daimler says it received a boost in its effort to accelerate fuel-cell powertrain development when it reached an agreement early last year with Nissan and Ford to work together on speeding up relevant powertrain technology. While Toyota's first fuel-cell vehicle in Japan is priced at almost $70,000 (before big government incentives kick in), Kohler says Daimler's first fuel-cell vehicle will be priced similar to a hybrid vehicle. Of course, that's a Mercedes-Benz hybrid we're talking about here, but still. Related Gallery Mercedes-Benz F-Cell View 9 Photos News Source: Automotive News - sub. req. Mercedes says it's tops in luxury sales for 2012, not BMW
Tue, 19 Feb 2013It turns out that Mercedes-Benz North America has legitimate claim to being the top selling luxury nameplate in the US in 2012.
While sources such as Autodata had put BMW in the top spot, registration data from R.L. Polk shows that Mercedes customers registering new vehicles topped the Bavarian automaker in the most recent calendar year. Polk says Benz posted 274,123 registrations, compared with BMW's 268,498.
In terms of sales posted, BMW had bested Benz 281,460 to 274,134. But sales are recorded somewhat inconsistently from automaker to automaker. Some book the sales as soon as they are shipped from factory to dealer. There is perennial gamesmanship between the two German rivals, and the sales numbers suggest that BMW pushed out some extra sheetmetal to dealers in the last four weeks of the year.
