Hello, My name is Tony Ringham. I live in a small town north of Minneapolis/St.Paul MN. I own an import repair shop called Precision Imports. I have been fixing german cars for the last 9 years and am a certified Mercedes-Benz technician. I buy a few project cars every year just to fill in the slow times and even some Saturday's. A few months back i purchased this 2006 CLS55 with extremely low miles. The interior was somewhat taken apart and missing a lot of small things as well as the air suspension was collapsed and both batteries were dead. it also needed a good gleaning and a good once over since it appeared to have been sitting since 2008(look at the autocheck or carfax to verify the low miles and that it wasnt registered since 2008). when i received the car i immediately tried to determine why the title was salvaged and what happened to the car. the best explanation i can determine is that the car was either stolen and recovered 5 years later or it was maybe impounded as a drug car and thats why the interior was taken apart. I really have no way to find out. I can say with certainty however that it has never been wrecked and it is certainly not a flood car. I even removed the seats and carpet to look for water damage. none was found and since i have fixed about 3 flood cars this year i absolutely know what to look for(rusty seat rails moisture in headlights, corroded connectors etc.)when i got the car it was running and driving with no warning lights on except for the air suspension. i will list the parts i replaced below. the car is finished and i have put about 3000 miles on it since just to make sure no warning lights come on or any other issues. all clear except for the tires having slight flat spots which i will mention below. if the car doesnt sell my next step will be to replace all 4 tires but i would rather sell it the way it is because my experience has been that everyone has their favorite type of tire and dont like the ones i buy! (like shoes). the car has passed the salvage inspection and a friend of mine who owns a dealer is doing the title work to save me a few dollars. i will have a rebuilt mn title in 1-2 weeks. I can certainly hold the car until then if someone wants to purchase it. my cell phone is 320-291-1055 and again my name is tony. book value on this car with such low mileage is between $39k-41k. you can save thousands of dollars just because of the title. plus i just replaced all of the common issues with this age mercedes. Many people also prefer the cls55 to the cls63. parts are more readily available and they are faster. 2006 is the only year they were made.I also have a shipping broker that is excellent to work with. i have had my fun with this car and I am ready for another project. this car will make its new owner very happy, great value. Also has keyless go.
NEW:
mercedes floor matts
front and rear batteries
steering angle sensor
front left airmatic strut, both rear airbags, suspension compressor and right rear shock absorber.
synthetic oil change
alternator
fuel pressure regulator in tank
carbon fiber center caps and smoked marker lights with l.e.d bulbs. lightly tinted windows
various interior parts which of course dont add value
WHAT DOES IT NEED/FLAWS?
tires have flat spots from sitting for 5 years. plenty of tread but slight shimmy in the steering wheel that comes and goes at certain speeds
chrome trim around windows has the typical water spots that all german cars get
rear suspension is a little higher than i think looks right and needs the factory star diagnosis tool to calibrate the ride height if u want it lower.
THATS IT!
no warning lights, clunks, smells or fluid leaks. i have been through this car inside and out front to back. everything works and there are no rattles. i will try to embed a 3 minute video i made on my ad but have never done so before so feel free to text me at 320-291-1055 and i can send it to u if it doesnt work on here. thx!

Is Audi getting complacent and suffering from brain drain?
Wed, 27 Nov 2013The argument is made in a Reuters article: Audi is falling behind other luxury brands, such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, due to a lack of research-and-development spending and "brain drain," or the migration of top executives and R&D chiefs to other parts of the Volkswagen Group. Reuters notes that Audi's current R&D chief is the third in 16 months.
Audi, which contributed to 40 percent of VW Group's $11.6 billion in profit the first nine months of the year, is delivering cars at a record pace: 1.31 million were delivered from January to October 2013 versus BMW's 1.35 million. Yet Audi, Reuters reports, doesn't have a halo car akin to BMW's new electrified i3 and i8 or an answer to Mercedes' plug-in-hybrid S-Class, and the R&D spending at Audi is less than BMW and Mercedes by a fair margin. It's noted in the article, however, that Audi benefits from other R&D spending within VW Group.
Reuters mentions that BMW "trumpets its new 'i' series" and the new Mercedes CLA and GLA ranges are winning "rave reviews" as part of its argument that Audi's recent lack of technological innovation could hurt future sales. Those cars do pack tons of new technology, some of which are firsts for mainstream production cars. But last time we checked, the i3 could be causing BMW's stock to slide, the CLA isn't receiving the rave reviews that Reuters would have you believe and the GLA hasn't been reviewed yet.
Race recap: 2016 Australian F1 Grand Prix a rowdy start to season
Mon, Mar 21 2016The three brief Formula 1 tests ahead of the current season belied how much had gone on since the last race in November: Infiniti subbed out for Tag Heuer, Renault is back, the all new Haas F1 team, a revamped Manor, three brand new drivers and two returning drivers, a raft of regulation changes among the newly tilled soil. The four engine manufacturers spent a combined 67 tokens among the 138 in the kitty, Renault using just seven of their 32. The only conclusive proof to come from the annual intermission was the otherworldly capability of Mercedes-AMG Petronas. The Silver Arrows didn't even try the super- and ultra-soft tires, focusing on reliability instead of speed. The result? They ran more than 19 race distances, obliterating the lap totals of every other team. There are certainly a few people who enjoyed the complicated new rolling-elimination qualifying format fast-tracked to approval just a few weeks ago. They were wildly outnumbered by those who thought it was awful, including the same team heads who voted for it. We'd probably have to go back to the debacle at the 2005 Indianapolis Grand Prix for an equivalent fiasco when Michelin pulled its teams over safety fears, leaving six cars out of 20 to qualify. In Australia, within 24 hours of the conclusion of qualifying, the new format had itself been eliminated. Nevertheless, qualifying also taught us what didn't happen over the winter: any other team progressing enough to outduel Mercedes. After admitting that he dropped off after winning the championship last year, then getting questioned in the press for some dubious off-season activities, Lewis Hamilton proved he can still turn it on when he wants to. The Brit smoked the Albert Park track in 1:23.837, more than three-tenths of a second ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg in second place. Ferrari did make strides during the off-season, but only enough to keep the same gap it had to Mercedes last year: Sebastian Vettel lined up third, a half-second behind Rosberg, teammate Kimi Raikkonen another four-tenths back in fourth place. Max Verstappen said Toro Rosso is the best of the rest, the Dutchman taking fifth place in front of Felipe Massa for Williams in sixth and Toro Rosso teammate Carlos Sainz in sixth. Daniel Ricciardo – who wasn't smiling after qualifying – kept Red Bull and its new "Tag Heuer" engines in the conversation with eighth on the grid.
How could a lifted Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG be more awesome? Add an axle
Fri, 01 Mar 2013We are fully confident in saying that this will be the most amazing thing you see all day. First of all, it's a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen - in AMG spec, no less. And it's being shown off in high-definition video glory, blasting through the desert, jumping over sand dunes, and generally being awesome. But here's the kicker: It has six wheels. Three axles. And they're all driven. Holy $%!#.
Under the hood is AMG's usual 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, and total output is rated at 536 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. That's impressive and all, but do keep in mind that the G63 6x6 weighs in at 8,322 pounds or, you know, the weight of two E-Class sedans. Combine that with its 18 inches of ground clearance, 37-inch tires and five locking differentials and you've got a vehicle capable of, well, everything you've ever imagined or will ever imagine for the rest of your life.
But the goodness doesn't stop once you open the doors. Oh, no. This thing is fit for a king - or a sheik, more appropriately - with ultimately luxurious seating for four. The rear bench seat has been removed in favor of two bucket seats with a fixed console in the middle, and the rear seats have been moved back beyond the usual B pillar to allow for more legroom.
