Charlottesville, Virginia, United States

Up for a sale is an one of kind CL500 with AMG Sport Package. No reserve, you name the price.

Here is some info about the car;

This CL500 is a Florida car, that has never seen any snow. It has no rust, not even any rock chips. No body work, no paint job. It has been always dealer serviced, and it has more than 60 pages of service records. I won't list everything but the major stuff.

Mercedes dealer replaced the catalytic convertors (they go bad on these cars), ABC suspensions, and tandem pump (they also fail on these cars), brakes (with ceramic ones), dashboard gauges (they were defective on these cars) , engine valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, coils, oxygen sensors, mass air flow sensor, any many other parts. I believe the total of these services exceeds $15k. And again these are all on paper, whichever mercedes dealer you go to, they will be able to see them on their computers as well. I also got the paper filters replaced with K&N filters, and got the calipers powder coated. It also has new tires.

As you can see it has no dings, no scratches, no dents, no rock chips, headlights look like they just came out from the factory, the car needs nothing, it is pristine inside and out, seats don't even have any cracks, mechanically running like its new.

The car needs nothing, even though I'm selling it AS-IS, I will provide 500 mile engine - power train warranty because I trust the car, and know the service history.

This car is not just another CL500, this car is the CL500 with NO ABC Problems, with NO engine problems, or any cosmetic problems.

When you check the value of this car, consider this car as it is in Excellent condition please, and bid accordingly.

Now the goodies,

Fully loaded, with premium 3 package, includes,

Heated, Cooled, Massage Seats
Distronic (Cruise control with auto braking, radar guided)
Perforated Leather Seats (pristine)
KEYLESS - GO (Start your car from the shift knob)
Card Key
AMG Package
Polarized Windshield
UV filtered windows

This car turns head all the time, people think it's brand new, the MSRP on this car was over $110k. I am selling this because I'm becoming a father soon, and I'm going to need a car with a larger trunk, and rear doors. As much as I love my car, I love my family and daughter more, so it's time for me to let it go. Hope it finds a nice home.

Happy bidding, and as always don't hesitate to send me questions. I have perfect feedback and sold my wive's C class here on eBay before, buyer was happy, he did wait a while to leave me a feedback so you can check it out, I don't sell anything that i wouldn't buy.

So bid with confidence.

This car drives, and runs perfect, locals are encouraged to test drive it.

UPDATE:

Please do not send me low ball offers. Not in rush to sell it.

UPDATE 2:

I'm still getting so many messages with offers, I will wait until the auctions ends. Edmund's True Value for this car is $12,247.00.

Maybach could become Mercedes-Benz sub-brand

Wed, 22 Jun 2011

When you're arriving in a twin-turbocharged, twelve-cylinder Maybach limo, there's no reason you should ever have to be late. Except, maybe, to make a fashionable entrance. But up at the corporate level, the entire Maybach brand is being slowed down as critical decisions about its future are being undertaken.
Last week, we reported that a decision on what path Maybach would take going forward would be due at the start of next month, but the latest reports indicate that the timeframe has been extended as further options are being considered.
The previous options under consideration were twofold: either relaunch the brand with production outsourced to Aston Martin - which suddenly finds itself with excess production capacity - or shut it down completely. And those are still two very real options. Word has it that Aston has put together four concept cars for the Daimler brass to consider, all based on the next-generation S-Class platform (and thankfully not the old one).

Why all of this year's F1 noses are so ugly [w/video]

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

If you're a serious fan of Formula One, you already know all about The Great Nosecone Conundrum of 2014. Those given to parsing each year's F1 regulations predicted the strong possibility of the so-called "anteater" noses as far back as early December 2013. Highly suggestive visual evidence first came after Caterham's crash test in early January, with further proof coming as soon as Williams showed a rendering of the FW36 challenger for this year's championship. That car earned a name that wasn't nearly so kind as "anteater."
Casual followers of the sport - or anyone who gets the feed from this site - probably don't know what's happening, except to wonder why the current year's F1 cars are led by appendages that would make Cyrano de Bergerac feel a whole lot better about himself.
The short answer to the question of ugsome F1 noses is "FIA regulations and safety." The reason there are various kinds of ugsome noses is simpler: engineers. The same boffins who have given us advances including carbon fiber monocoques, six-wheeled cars, double diffusers and Drag Reduction Systems are bred to do everything in their power to exploit every possible freedom in the regulations to make the cars they're building go faster - the caveat being that those advances have to work within the overall philosophy of the whole car.

Daimler exec hypothetically discusses 3-cylinder engines for small hybrids

Wed, Mar 26 2014

Is three the magic number of cylinders for Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler and its efforts to build smaller powertrains for its compact hybrids? Potentially, yes, the German automaker could see the need for three-cylinder mills, Automotive News reports. The company doesn't have any plans for them as of yet, though. Daimler executive Bernhard Heil talked with Automotive News about the challenges of using four-cylinder engines in a front-wheel-drive setup and said that three-cylinder engines could work in transverse-mounted powertrains for hybrid cars. For now, though, the company doesn't actually have any plans to go in that direction, Mercedes-Benz spokesman Christoph Horn said in an e-mail to AutoblogGreen. Horn wrote that Heil "actually said that if ever MB would use a three-cylinder engine than [it would be] in a configuration where space is restricted, such as when using a hybrid power train in a compact car." Of course, the only compact "hybrid" that Mercedes-Benz has is the 2015 C-Class, but that refers to the "hybrid" body is made of 48-percent aluminum, up from the current nine percent, as well as steel. It has nothing to do with the powertrain. Beyond that, there's always the Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid that the company unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show last fall, but that model, which will debut in Europe later this year and arrive stateside next year, has a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 and an 80-kilowatt electric motor that propels the plug-in from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 5.5 seconds. Not exactly three-cylinder territory, that.
