2006 Mercedes-benz Cl65 Amg V12 Biturbo 602hp 738 Ft-lbs Meticulously Maintained on 2040-cars
Wildwood, New Jersey, United States
Attention well-heeled sports car lovers: why brandish a scalpel when you can throw a sledgehammer? This hard to find black on black Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG (W215 Series) is the ideal cure for Adrenal Deficiency Disorder! OMG! The CL65 AMG is a 4750lb two-door with a twelve-pot twin-turbo motor and enough power (604hp) and torque (738 ft-lbs. @ 2 – 4000 rpm) to reverse the planet's rotation. With so much twist underfoot, the CL's luxo-coupe forward progress is infinitely serene; you can arrive at your destination without the slightest clue how you got there. Or, roll down all four windows for a big-bore, quad-tip exhaust experience not available since the Nixon administration. Depress your right shoe at anything more than quarter-throttle and the ESP traction control light starts blinking Morse code: your… license… is… in… grave… danger… The CL 65 AMG lays down the grunt like a big-block Chevelle on Mickey Thompsons. The stats say zero to sixty takes four point five second of your time, but the truth is you're gone almost before you start. Close the glass, get your speed on and the sound insulation, aerodynamics and massive weight remove all sensation of speed. A glance at the speedometer is your only indication that a police helicopter may be struggling to reach your 10-20. The AMG was my fair weather, summer thrill ride. It has been meticulously maintained, never in an accident, and always garaged with a custom fitted car cover (included with sale). This Mercedes-Benz is in excellent condition. I have all records of service/maintenance. It is in excellent condition, an absolute thrill to drive...a must have experience. This baby will pull down a house! This car was originally leased for two terms by the same person. At lease end, I purchased the CL65 from The Mercedes-Benz/Porsche Dealership - Precision Cars of Atlantic City. It was only 3 years old and had 35k miles at that time. Non-smokers. CL65 "Baby Book" included. 60+ pages of service history documentation. This car has been flawlessly maintained. It is difficult to let this car go, but finances as they are, I must pass it on. This beauty is located at our home in North Wildwood, NJ. New Jersey Title is in my name - in hand. I am more than happy to answer any questions through email or over the phone, and encourage you to see this beauty prior to bidding/purchase. You will not be disappointed. Again, I am more than happy to discuss the AMG with you over the phone, but you must see it to truly appreciate its beauty and precision. Kind regards. |

Mercedes-Maybach Pullman stretches its way to Geneva
Wed, Feb 18 2015Mercedes-Benz is known the world over for producing luxury automobiles, but even among Benzes there's a hierarchy. The S-Class sits at the top of the Mercedes range, the Maybach at the top of the S-Class, and what you see here sits at the top of the Maybach line. It's the new Pullman limousine, and it arrives on the 50th anniversary of the original. Stretching a massive 21.3 feet, the new Mercedes-Maybach Pullman is even longer than the previous Maybach 62 by a full foot, and a good 3.5 feet longer than the standard-wheelbase Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, or two feet longer than the G63 AMG 6x6. In other terms, it's over a foot longer than the Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB, and the better part of a yard longer than even the Cadillac Escalade ESV. Heck, you could just about fit Benz's other flagship, the Mercedes-AMG GT, inside the new Pullman's 14.5-foot wheelbase. As if that's not enough, it also stands 3.9 inches higher than a standard S-Class to the benefit of its imposing presence and interior space. Should you be so fortunate as to be graced with an invitation to step inside, you'd find an interior entirely clad in leather with four seats: two recliners and two fold-down seats facing backwards. Those principal rear seats can recline between 19 and 43.5 degrees and offer an extensive array of individual adjustments to cater just-so to the occupants' individual preferences. Ingress and egress are enabled by larger rear doors that open in front of – instead of next to – those rear seats to enhance the privacy of the traveling dignitaries, who will be able to monitor the state of affairs through the analog thermometer, speedometer and clock mounted in the roof liner. They'll also enjoy privacy thanks to the electrically operated glass partition wall with an 18.5-inch monitor mounted in front of it and a choice of Burmester sound systems. Long the favorite of heads of state and captains of industry, the new Pullman will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show now just weeks away. We don't doubt that Mercedes will offer its customers a choice of engine options (as long as they're capable of motivating the new Pullman's assuredly substantial heft), but most suitable to the task will of course be the 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 with its 523 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque.
Weekly Recap: Automakers rethink the definition of luxury
Sat, Jan 17 2015Variety is the spice of life, but it's becoming a prerequisite for luxury carmakers in the ultra-competitive US market. The Detroit Auto Show was strong evidence of this reality. It's not enough to offer attractive and well-appointed cars and SUVs anymore. Luxury brands that want to be competitive need to invest in everything from high-powered supercars to clever hybrids. To be relevant, you need to be green and mean – and everything in between. As General Motors product chief Mark Reuss said after the reveal of the 640-horsepower Cadillac CTS-V: "We are not leaving anything on the table." He was speaking for Cadillac, but he might as well have been speaking for the luxury car market. The CTS-V debuted in Detroit about an hour after Lexus surprised showgoers with the reveal of the RC F GT3 race car and then announced ambitious plans to return to competitive racing. That almost overshadowed the fact Lexus had just revealed another potent addition to its growing F line, the 467-hp GS F. View 20 Photos But for luxury brands, it's not just about maximum horsepower for well-heeled enthusiasts or decadent amenities for the Grey Poupon set. Strong competition from all corners has forced automakers to refine and expand their lineups in ways unforeseen even a few years ago. Case in point: Mercedes-Benz finally has an answer to the BMW X6, rolling out the GLE coupe in Detroit. The X6, which blends coupe-like styling cues with some of the functionality of an SUV, debuted in 2008. Back then it was a punchline, but seven years and more than 260,000 sales later, the X6's success has compelled Benz to respond. Mercedes – one of the strongest proponents of diesel technology – also debuted the C350 plug-in hybrid sedan, which promises a range of 20 miles on electricity, though fuel economy figures were not announced. The car pairs Mercedes' well-received 208-hp turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor for total output of 275 hp and 443 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, Infiniti will add the Q30 hatchback to its lineup by the end of the year, new president Roland Kruger reiterated in Detroit. It's expected to be joined by a crossover variant, and the additions will help strengthen Infiniti in the United States and abroad. "While we're expanding our product line, we're also expanding our market reach," he said. That's something echoed by Jaguar executives, who are preparing to launch the brand's first crossover, the F-Pace, in 2016.
