It's time for me to downsize my collection before I lose garage space next year. I will be listing 2 Mercedes, two 442's, a Jaguar XK8 Coupe, and a Mazda RX7 Convertible. Please watch for my other listings if you are interested. All these cars have something special to offer. I will be happy to assist with any inspection or pick up by carrier. I am 45 minutes South of the Atlanta airport. Payment will be accepted by bank wire transfer, check, or cash. No vehicle will be released before all funds have cleared my bank. I have a perfect eBay rating and want to keep it that way. I ask the same from you. Please don't bid unless you have funds available to complete the transaction. All vehicles will be advertised locally, and I reserve the right to end any auction early. In fairness to all bidders, I will not disclose reserve price. Good luck!
This car was special ordered in Atlanta and taken by original owner to a second home in North Carolina. It was kept there for six years as an occasional weekend driver, then brought back to Atlanta in 2002. It was re-titled to a family member a year later, then traded in at the original selling Atlanta dealer (MRB) on an E55 in July of 2004. I happened to be driving by the dealership that day, and bought the car as soon as MRB completed their extensive service. I have the receipt from that service showing the Sales Department being charged $1000 for this work. When I took delivery, the car had 17,306 miles. I have the Car Fax report from this time that reflects the ownership, no accidents, and mileage, as well as an odometer statement from the dealership. I have owned the car nine years, and have put seven thousand miles on her. It has been inspected on a yearly basis since then (with mileage noted), a second "A" service performed at 23,574 miles costing over $1000, another oil change 300 miles ago (always used Mobil 1), and the A/C system serviced at that same time. She has been babied, and can be driven anywhere without worries.
While I can't prove the car had never been in the rain before I bought it, any exposure to weather had to be minimal. There are still traces of the factory undercoating (cosmoline?) used to protect vehicles during the shipping process. I have always kept the car garaged, covered, and on a Battery Plus trickle charger. The original black paint still has a deep shine, the interior is perfect, the engine compartment clean, the trunk is spotless, all rubber and weather striping excellent, and she still wears the original Bridgestone tires on AMG wheels that have no curb rash. The tires still have good tread left, but are somewhat "lumpy" when first driven. This smooth's out as they heat up. I have considered replacing them, but they help show how this car has been babied all it's life. There were 338 of these cars built in 1996. The factory produced a C260, which was then sent to AMG. They removed the engine and transmission, greatly enhanced performance of both, added special ground effects, oversized AMG wheels and tires, and several discreet emblems throughout. The car was completely transformed by these changes, and has to be driven to truly appreciate the world class results.
I believe this car was ordered with every option available at the time, including climate control, leather, sunroof, heated and power seats, Bose sound system with 6 disc Alpine changer, console/armrest, ASR, alarm system, headlamp washers, power windows, ski bag pass through, passenger air bag, etc. Everything works perfectly. And yes, it has the first aid kit still in the rear window compartment, for you Mercedes specialists out there.
There are a few minor road rash nicks and such that any car picks up over 24K miles of driving, so I won't use dealer words like spotless or pristine that I see here on eBay. But I'm sure whoever buys this car will be more than happy with her. I have closely watched for any others to come up for sale in the last nine years. I have seen less than 15, and all have had over 80K miles, some as many as 125K. This tells me they were well put together, and the engines will hold up. I can't imagine there are more than a couple of other ones like this is in country, probably none. You won't be disappointed. She needs a new home...

Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 priced at $48,855, AWD at $50,855
Fri, Apr 8 2016Infiniti's most powerful production model, the new Q50 Red Sport 400, now has a starting price. You'll need at least $48,855 for the rear-drive model or $50,855 for all-wheel drive. (Both figures include the $905 destination charge.) A fully loaded, rear-drive Q50 RS400 with Direct Adaptive Steering, navigation, adaptive cruise control, a heated steering wheel, and Infiniti's entire alphabet soup of safety equipment, tops out at $57,045. (Again, add $2,000 for AWD). When it comes to rear-drive competition, the closest base price to the Q50 is the 320-hp BMW 340i. This German undercuts the Infiniti by two grand, $46,795 to $48,855. But the BMW outprices the Q50 as soon as you start selecting options. A 340i with similar equipment to a loaded Q50 Red Sport 400 costs just under $60,000. All-wheel-drive German competitors also lose out in the price war. Like with the rear-drive models, the BMW 340i xDrive undercuts the Q50 RS400 by around $2,000. Add the options, and the Infiniti becomes a better value. The other two big German rivals, the Audi S4 and Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG start at a higher price and only get more expensive. Technically the S4 starts cheaper than the Q50, but only with the standard manual transmission. Selecting the S-Tronic dual-clutch model kicks the price from $50,125 to $51,125, and going for the top-end Prestige trim will bump potential Audi owners up to $57,025. Throw on must-have S4 options, including adaptive cruise control, adaptive dampers, and a sport differential and you'll be shell out $64,425 for the Audi. The Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG is the priciest choice in this group, starting at $51,725, or roughly $900 more than a base Q50 RS400 with AWD. Options, again, are the downfall here. Building a C450 to match a loaded Infiniti will drive the Mercedes' price up to $64,315. While it occupies something of a weird space relative to these vehicles, it's also worth mentioning the Cadillac CTS VSport. It's the only car in this impromptu pricing comparo that can outgun the Q50, with its 3.6-liter, twin-turbo V6 good for 420 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. It also starts at $60,950, although that includes plenty of standard equipment. All this means that the Q50 Red Sport 400 represents a relative value. It packs more power than the Germans – 80 more than the 340i, 67 more than the S4, and 38 more than the C450 – and a more comprehensive list of options, too.

BMW negotiates Daimler alliance, buys out car-service partner Sixt
Mon, Jan 29 2018Sixt sells its stake in DriveNow car-sharing to BMW BMW in talks with Daimler to combine car-sharing Combining car-sharing business to aid robotaxi plans FRANKFURT — Germany's BMW has bought out partner Sixt from their joint venture DriveNow, paving the way for a broader car-sharing and driverless taxi alliance with Daimler to compete against Uber and Lyft. Car rental company Sixt said on Monday it would generate an extraordinary pre-tax profit of about 200 million euros ($248 million) in 2018 from the sale of the DriveNow stake to BMW for 209 million euros. "With DriveNow as a wholly-owned subsidiary, we have all options for continued strategic development of our services," said Peter Schwarzenbauer, BMW's board member for Digital Business Innovation. "Our experience with mobility services supports our development of future autonomous, electrified and connected fleets," he said, adding that BMW aims to have 100 million customers for "premium mobility services" by 2025. The Sixt deal comes as BMW moves closer to a deal to combine its car-sharing services with Daimler's Car2Go, a person familiar with the discussions told Reuters last week. The German carmakers want to build a joint business that includes car sharing, ride-hailing, electric vehicle charging, and digital parking services, a senior executive at one of the companies said on Monday. Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler and BMW declined comment on the status of potential talks on their car-sharing business. "This is speculation, we do not comment," BMW said. The senior executive, who declined to be named because the plan is not public, said: "This will create an ecosystem which can also be used for managing robotaxi (driverless taxi) fleets." BMW would contribute its ParkNow and ChargeNow businesses to the common company, the executive said, adding that there were still differences of opinion over the valuation of Car2Go. The market for ride-hailing services currently makes up around 33 percent of the global taxi market, and could grow eightfold to $285 billion by 2030, once autonomous robotaxis are in operation, Goldman Sachs said in a recent research note. BMW and Daimler are now working on developing autonomous cars, vehicles which could enable them to up-end the market for taxi and ride-hailing services.
