Up for auction is a 2004 Mercedes Benz E500 4matic wagon. This Mercedes is in great shape and is absolutely immaculate. It is Obsidian Black (Black Metallic) with a black leather interior. Very sharp! A few minor dings and scratches around from normal use, but nothing major. The paint finish is very shiny and I keep it waxed and in the garage at all times. It is also loaded with all the options including 4matic, navigation, rear seat A/C controls, heated seats, heated steering wheel, KeylessGo (keyless start), power liftgate, as well as all of the other features that come standard with this model. It also has a third row that can be folded up in the back compartment (however it is a small area to sit). This vehicle has 100,500 miles and just had the 100k mile service done which includes new spark plugs, tire rotation, new air filter, new crankshaft sensor (recommended, but wasn't needed). Everything works great on this Mercedes. Also within the last 10,000 miles, I had the transmission flushed and an electrical connector replaced that can be prone to leaking if not replaced. This Mercedes has been well cared for by an auto enthusiast and is ready for a new home. I just have too many vehicles. This vehicle does have a rebuilt salvage title due to a collision in the back that required replacement of the liftgate. However, it has been over 10,000 miles since that happened and everything works just fine with the vehicle. As mentioned, it is in great shape, recently serviced, looks great, and ready to go!

Mercedes S-Class Magic Body Control ad is clucking awesome
Tue, 24 Sep 2013This is a new ad from Mercedes-Benz. At no point does it show an automobile. Instead, it stars animals, but not the sort you might normally see in car commercial. This ad is all about chickens. It is bizarre, to say the least, with Diana Ross and the Supremes belting it out in the background, but it all kind of comes together when you realize just what Mercedes is hawking (yeah, pun intended).
It's for the manufacturer's Magic Body Control, found on the new S-Class. The system basically analyzes the road and prepares the suspension accordingly, leading to a ride that is, in the words of our own Chris Paukert "nothing short of spooky." You can read about it in our full review of the 2014 S550. Take a look below for the 53-second spot.
German carmakers recall 630,000 diesel vehicles in Europe
Fri, Apr 22 2016Mercedes, Opel, Porsche, and Volkswagen will recall over 630,000 cars in Europe, according to reports Friday. No diesel car has been able to get under the legal emissions limit in real-world driving, according to a German government investigation. While only Volkswagen Group has been using a specific "defeat device", other carmakers have been playing with their exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems. Depending of the manufacturer, the systems have been cut off at a certain temperature. In a specific test cycle the systems operate to fulfill the legal requirements, but in everyday use the limits are exceeded. According to the magazine Der Spiegel, the supplier Bosch is behind this programming and has provided it to all German automakers. The mentioned carmakers have announced recalls, but many other manufacturers are also mentioned by name in the report, including Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Dacia, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Nissan, Renault, and Suzuki. PSA Group, which produces Peugeot, Citroen, and DS cars, declared yesterday that its offices were raided following an emissions investigation. Mercedes rolls out the long red carpet for new Maybach S600 Pullman [w/video]
Tue, Mar 3 2015Remember when the S-Class was the S-Class and that was it? The pinnacle of the Mercedes-Benz lineup, at least as far as sedans were concerned. But those days are long behind us. Now there's a coupe as well (bringing the former CL back into the fold), a convertible on its way, the uber-luxe Maybach limo and this: the new Pullman. The creme de la creme of the Silver Star range, His Excellency Field Marshall Dr. Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman Dada – as it's known in full, at least with the twelve-cylinder engine – is... well, it's enormous. It's bigger than the old Maybach 62 it essentially replaces and bigger even than an extended-wheelbase Rolls-Royce Phantom. And why would you need a vehicle so large? Well, you wouldn't. And neither would we. But there are some, shall we call them "unelected heads of state" who would accept no less. They're the customers who favored the original, and 50 years later, they're the ones who'll be snapping up the new one. (The little wavy flags on the front fenders are optional.)
