2003 Mercedes Sl55 Amg Silver Dipped In Matte White on 2040-cars
North Hollywood, California, United States
BEAUTIFUL Matte White 2003 SL55 AMG. *** This is a beautiful car that always receives looks & compliments. NO ONE can believe it's a 2003. - EXTREME Performance - V8 Supercharged Engine - Factory 493HP with 516lb of torque. 0-60 in only 4.5 Seconds. - AMG - Hand Made, better suspension, brakes, power and more. - Hard Top Convertible, retracts down in only 16 seconds First the not NOT so good: The car has a Salvage title and I bought it as such. I have pictures of the car prior to repairs, which are when the car is showing in silver car (I had it dipped in matte white since). I have fixed everything on the car and it drives beautifully. The SRS light is on because the driver side Knee airbag I did not replace. It costs about $300 to $500 and you can find it here on Ebay. I did not replace it because I did not think its necessary or provides any additional essential safety measure. Some codes do appear about rear lamps because some of the LED bulbs are out. The lights still work perfectly fine, but it shows a code because if any one of the LED is out it shows up. When I replaced the driver Airbag the replacement came in Charcoal color, and the rest of the interior is Black. I had it professionally sprayed but it does have some chipping as can be seen in pictures. If it bothers you, you can have it resprayed again or replace it with a Black one. The front bumper has two small cracks as seen in pictures. I do not recommend replacing it as its very expensive, and cracks easily if you're not very careful. I cracked it by parking over those small parking bricks. It hardly shows and the dip rubbery paint covers it up beautifully. The Good: The car has over $6,000 in performance upgrades per prior owner. He said he had upgraded the crank or drive shaft to a performance one which cost around $4,000. Also he had upgraded the suspension to make it more suitable for canyon driving through sharp turns. All in all he said he spent over $6K in these upgrades. The car drives beautifully and has unbelievable power. I tried to take photos as close as possible to show how beautiful the body works. It does not have any door dings and looks almost brand new. The car came with 19" Black series wheels which I still have. These wheels are very hard to come by and sell for upwards of $4,000 if you can find them. The passenger side front wheel is damaged from the collision it had sustained, but can still be driven on. I drove it on these wheels for about 2 months before changing. I personally do not like the way they look so I changed it to 20" XO Miami wheels. I have owned the car for a year now and have not had any issues with it. Only reason I am selling the car is because I am having twins and need a bigger car. I held on to it as long as I can, and my twins are due in July, so I am selling it now. If you're the winner of the Auction and would like the Black Series wheels along with the car I'll sell them for $2,000 additional. The car is located in Los Angeles, CA and I have the title on hand. I will entertain reasonable offers and reserve the right to end auction early. You are welcome to come test drive the car or send your mechanic/trusted party to inspect/test drive it. Please email me with any questions and bid only if you're serious about buying. Payments Methods accepted - $1,000 within 24 hours of auction end - If you write a check you will have to wait until it clears for Title and Car - Your bank can wire my bank the money - OR Cash in hand |

Regulators consider adding more carmakers to Takata recall
Tue, Sep 29 2015Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal has been getting a lot of press recently, but the Takata airbag inflator affair could be grabbing headlines again soon. According to Bloomberg, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is contemplating an expansion to the campaign that could add seven automakers to the 12 already affected. They are Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Spartan Motors, Suzuki, Tesla, Volvo Trucks, and VW Group. To be clear, there's no recall for any of these automakers, yet. The government is simply asking for a full list of vehicles that each of them have with Takata-supplied inflators containing ammonium nitrate propellant. The agency is concerned this substance could play a roll in the ruptures. "NHTSA is considering not only whether to issue an administrative order that would coordinate the remedy programs associated with the current Takata recalls, but also whether such an order should include expansion of the current recalls," the letters say. All seven can be viewed, here. From a report supplied by Takata, the government already knows that the company supplied 887,055 inflators with ammonium-nitrate propellant to VW and 184,926 of them to Tesla. In an incident during the summer, a side airbag allegedly burst in a 2015 VW Tiguan. In early September, NHTSA put out a revised report that there were 23.4 million inflators to be replaced in 19.2 million vehicles in the US. An earlier accounting from the agency had about 34 million of the parts in 30 million cars. High humidity is still believed to be among the biggest risk factors for the ruptures. Although, if ammonium nitrate also gets the blame, some already recalled models might need to be repaired again. Related Video:
Petrolicious profiles mustard 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280 ready to go anywhere
Thu, Feb 5 2015The Mercedes-Benz sedans of the '70s and early '80s are certainly attractive models, but with their hard lines, the four-doors really don't have the graceful curves usually associated with a beautiful car. Instead, it's much more accurate to call these classic Germans handsome. The W114 chassis especially has a powerful stance about it with an upright grille dominating the front and long, flat surfaces elsewhere. Petrolicious takes a look at one man's journey to restore one of these posh vehicles in its latest video. Bernard Bredehorn grew up in the back of his grandparents' W116-chassis Mercedes 280 SE, and when he eventually got a classic of his own, Bredehorn ended up with a 1972 Mercedes 280. However, the sedan was in need of a complete restoration and sat for years in a friend's garage buried under parts. Bredehorn eventually excavated the car and brought it back to life in a very '70s shade of mustard yellow. Petrolicious shows why this classic Mercedes is now happy eat up many trouble-free miles on Germany's roads.
10 most memorable cars and SUVs of 2019
Tue, Dec 24 2019It's no surprise that a car reviewer will drive a large number of cars over the course of a year. Indeed, when the clock strikes midnight on Dec 31, I will have driven 75 new cars, trucks and SUV this year (and one old Peugeot) over the course of weekly evaluation loans and first drive events. That sure seems like a lot. Some definitely got more attention than others, and some came and went without leaving much of an impression – I completely forgot I drove a Kia Forte. Yet in the spirit of this day, I thought I'd pick the 10 that I would love to see under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning. You know, just in case you were looking to get me something. I'll also throw in a couple disappointments that were memorable for the wrong reasons. They'd get sent back to the store on Boxing Day. Lexus LC 500 Pictured below and resplendent in its Flare Yellow metallic paint, the car that would reach highest on my list is the divine Lexus LC 500. As a devout lover of GT cars, the LC ticks all the boxes. Muscular and characterful engine? V8, check. Beautifully made and memorable interior? It's gorgeous, to hell with Remote Touch. Check. Comfortable and reasonably practical? Superb seats and, uh, yeah. Makes me want to stand there and stare at it? You bet. Though I long figured my heart would say LC but my head "Porsche 911," after this go-around, that's no longer the case. LC, pretty please. 2020-lexus-lc500-f34-2 View 19 Photos Polestar 1 I actually feel lucky that I got to drive the Polestar 1. Only 150 will be produced each year, and it's a far more special thing than it would initially appear. And that's despite initially appearing to be a beautiful, classic two-door GT car with a roof so rakish it's only possible because it's made of carbon fiber. That itÂ’s a massively powerful plug-in hybrid with more all-electric range than any other PHEV is a thick dollop of whipped cream on a slice of Toscakaka. You know, Swedish dessert, Swedish car. Fine, I'll stick to Ikea references. Polestar1_Launch_SanFrancisco-0014 View 44 Photos Volvo V60 Cross Country Speaking of Sweden, did I drive this car off the road there? Sure did! And despite this, the V60 Cross Country scratches that certain wagon itch and looks sensational to boot. I wish it were available with the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it's best not to get greedy at Christmas.
