1987 MERCEDES 560SL
ROADSTER in a Silver Blue with blue-gray interior. WDBBA48D8HA061895 You are viewing a 1987 MERCEDES 560SL ROADSTER in a Silver Blue with blue-gray interior. Up front: This Mercedes is being sold AS IS. I originally purchased this at auction. It has 115,000 miles this is an 8 Cylinder, automatic transmission, gasoline engine car. Two Tops: A hard Top which is painted the same color as the car body. Underneath, it has a dark sapphire blue convertible top in fair-good condition. Needs new Clear windows stitched in. The stitching is brittle and the windows are yellowed (The ones in the Rag Top only) The Blue convertible top is very tight when extended hard to latch. But I have the hard top in my garage. I drove it in the rain briefly and convertible the top did not leak. The exterior body paint is in pretty good condition for its 27 year age. But the passenger door has a golf ball size dent. Little rust spots where hard top met the body and maybe other small spots. (Look at pics). The rims need polishing . Some of the black rubber exterior parts are oxidized and need treating. The brakes work well, but rear might need replaced because they squeak, possibly a warning squeak. Or perhaps it just needs to be driven more. I bought a working radio that goes to this year/model Mercedes but did not hook it up because of my inexperience of this replacement. But I went to the Salvage yard and found many different plugin ends that will help to install cut wires into the back of this radio. New ignition Plugs and wires, clean oil on the dip stick. It was clean when I got it. I think tires are at 80% Look at all pics closely. Three pieces of exterior trim is off but unharmed and is with the car. The small trunk light lense needs installed and right tailight lense is broke. see pics. The car now is in Thayer mo. 65791 I might try to move it to my other house in Kansas City Mo. 64130. During
the week of the 9th Runs and shifts terrific as it should My yahoo mailing addy is tw_ricketts or Call,,,,, or better yet text me (Tom) at 417-280-6647 I have a reserve price at $2500 a steal. Check out many other sales and see what this car could be worth with a little attention. |

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 is pure electric excess
Fri, Aug 19 2016The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 is a two-door, two-passenger coupe that spans over 18 feet long. Everything about this car is more than you need. But isn't that the true definition of ultimate luxury? With so much sheet metal, it can be tricky to get everything to look right, but Mercedes seems to have done nicely with this concept. Overall, the car's long nose and short deck are reminiscent of the Mercedes-AMG GT, and the long, tapering tail and lights are similar to that of the Mercedes-AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept from a few years ago. Capping off the front of the Mercedes-Maybach 6 is a proud, prominent grille that the company claims was inspired by a pinstripe suit. At each corner are 24-inch wheels with transparent panels based on the transforming, aerodynamic wheels of the Concept IAA Mercedes previously showed. Powering this massive coupe are four electric motors that can produce a combined 738 horsepower. Mercedes says that will be enough to get the car to 62 mph from a standstill in under 4 seconds. The motors are backed by an 80 kWh battery that the company says can propel the car up to 200 miles. Perhaps more interesting than its range is the fact that the Mercedes-Maybach 6 can pick up a charge worth 62 miles in just 5 minutes, assuming you've got the right charger. This is technology that could really make a difference in the day-to-day practicality of electric cars, provided that it makes it to reality. The car can be charged either by being plugged in, or wirelessly with an inductive charging system. Inside, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 has even more fantastical features. It does retain analog gauges as a link to the past, but augments them with wrap-around glass trim that doubles as a display and touch-sensitive interface. The windshield seems to be pulled from Mission Impossible with its ability to display information. Sensors in the seats are designed to read the condition of the passengers and even their outfits to custom tailor everything from lighting to massage features. It's hard to say what the production odds are for this mega Mercedes, but you probably shouldn't hold your breath. Even for the rarified segment of seven-figure cars, this would be pretty extravagant. It wouldn't be impossible, or without precedent. Back when Maybach was still its own brand, the company created a ridiculous luxury coupe called the Exelero, and they sold the fully-functional car.
Recharge Wrap-up: Honda FCV Concept comes to Detroit, Toyota seeks young green energy fellows
Thu, Dec 18 2014Honda will bring its FCV Concept to the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. The hydrogen-powered concept made its Japanese debut in November, and will now make its way to North America for the first time. The FCV concept improves upon the design of the FCX Clarity with a more striking appearance and roomier interior. Its smaller powertrain packaging means more space for people, and the FCV Concept seats five passengers. Honda also expects the next-generation fuel-cell car, which is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in March 2016, to cost less and have a range of over 300 miles. Read more in the press release below. The Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive has been awarded an environmental certificate from the TUV Sud technical inspection authority. The certificate is based not just on the vehicle's operation, but the entire lifecycle of the car, including production and recycling. The B-Class Electric Drive produces 24 percent less CO2 over its lifecycle than the Mercedes-Benz B180 when using the EU electricity mix, and 64 percent less when powered by hydroelectricity. Mercedes credits not just the use of electricity, but also the car's energy management system - such as its radar-based regenerative braking - for its carbon reductions. Read more in the press release below. Scania will test a wirelessly charged plug-in hybrid bus in Sweden. Beginning in June 2016, the bus will be put to daily use in Sodertalje. One of its stops will have a wireless charging station where the bus will recharge for six to seven minutes before continuing on its route again. The charger is located under the road surface and the bus positions itself above it to charge inductively. About $1.3 million will come from the Swedish Energy Agency to fund the test project, which could save up to 90 percent of fuel costs. If expanded to a fleet of 2,000 buses, it could save up to 13 million gallons of fuel each year. Read more at Green Car Congress, and in the press release below. Sandia National Laboratories and Linde are teaming up to expand hydrogen fueling infrastructure. The two groups have signed an agreement to research and develop new hydrogen stations, as well as ways to make fuel cell vehicles more desirable for consumers. They are looking at ways to incorporate hydrogen into existing fuel stations where possible, and make sure that it is able to be done safely.
Chris Harris falls in love with Mercedes-AMG GT at Laguna Seca
Thu, Dec 4 2014It's not every day that an automaker goes down a market segment and still comes off as even more ambitious, but that's exactly what Mercedes has done with the new AMG GT. While the SLS was bigger and more expensive, with the new GT, Mercedes has set its sights on one of the most iconic sports cars of all time. That, of course, would be the Porsche 911, and the big question is whether Benz has achieved its target. For the answer, we turn to none other than the Monkey himself – the inimitable Chris Harris, who recently went solo with his own YouTube channel. And for his latest segment, he took the latest German sports car around no less suitable a track than Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
