MY DAD AND I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM ITS ORIGINAL OWNER THROUGH A CONSIGNMENT AT THE LOCAL BENZ DEALER.

THE ORIGINAL OWNER LIVED IN FLA AND ONLY DROVE THE CAR WHEN THEY WERE IN WV.
THE CAR SAT UNDER A CARPORT ON AND OFF FROM 1974-2009
THE ORIGINAL OWNER TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL BENZ DEALER FOR A TUNE UP AND PAINT JOB.
WE PURCHASED THIS CAR THEN......ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO.
WE HAVENT DRIVEN IT MORE THAN 5 TIMES SINCE, WE HAD TO RECENTLY PUT A BATTERY IN IT.
WE DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THESE OLD GERMAN CARS, BUT WHEN WE SAW IT, WE HAD TO HAVE IT
THE CAR COULD USE A TUNE-UP, IT RAN GREAT WHEN WE FIRST GOT IT, BUT IT HAS ACQUIRED A SLIGHT MIS WHEN THE THROTTLE IS FIRST APPLIED.....DUE TO SITTING IN MY GARAGE.  A SET OF POINTS AND PLUGS WILL FIX IT RIGHT UP IM SURE.
IT IS SMOOTH AS GLASS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, A GREAT DRIVING CAR, ACTUALLY IMPRESSIVE FOR ITS AGE.
BEFORE WE BOUGHT THE CAR THE TIRES, FUEL PUMP, MUFFLER, PLUGS, PLUG WIRES, POINTS WERE REPLACED. ONE HUBCAP HAS BEEN RE-PAINTED.
THE REST OF THE CAR AS FAR AS I KNOW IS 100% ORIGINAL. EVEN THE SOFT TOP! IT LOOKS AMAZING, SUPPOSEDLY WAS NEVER PUT UP BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER. THE SOFT TOP IS CHOCOLATE BROWN. WE HAVE THE HARD TOP AS WELL
THE CENTER OF THE SPEEDO NEEDLE FELL OFF, IT WAS LIKE THAT WHEN WE BOUGHT IT, THE TACH SEEMS INACCURATE, BUT WORKS. THE RADIO IS ORIGINAL BUT ONLY PICKS UP OCCASIONALLY...WHO NEEDS A RADIO IN A CLASSIC CONVERTIBLE?
THERE APPEARS TO BE NO RUST. THERE IS SOME SLIGHT SURFACE RUST IN THE TRUNK AND THE PASSENGER FLOORBOARD (LOOK AT PICS) NO HOLES, OR ANYTHING MAJOR. I COULD EASILY PAINT OVER IT AND IT WOULDN'T BE NOTICEABLE, BUT WE WANT TO BE AS STRAIGHTFORWARD AS POSSIBLE. THE DRIVER FLOORBOARD HAS THE SOUND DEADENING MATERIAL IN IT STILL.
THIS CAR IS STUNNING, EVERYONE LOVES IT, WE JUST NO LONGER HAVE ROOM.

The hottest modern sports cars rendered as rally racers

Thu, Jan 14 2016

The modern-day World Rally Championship a monumental amount of fun to watch – I should know, as I recently was lucky enough to head to the UK to watch WRC Wales Rally GB – but even the most monstrous of the current WRC cars are based on fairly pedestrian European hatchbacks. Back in the heyday of rally, the Group B era in the 1980s, much hotter cars were the basis of even more incredible competition machines, for the most part. Take the exotic Ford RS200, or the Lancia Delta S4 with its twin-charged engine. And the hatchback-based Group B cars were bonkers, too. So what would some of our favorite modern cars look like if Group B had never ended? A British site named CarWow hired an artist to reimagine everything from the Rolls-Royce Wraith to the Porsche 911 as a retro-inspired rally car, and they were kind enough to let us share the results in the gallery above. The gallery features an Alfa Romeo Giulia in Martini livery, an Audi TT in classic Ur-Quattro colors, a Fiat 500 Abarth sporting massive flares and a hood blister full of auxiliary lights, a new Ford Mustang in RS200 livery, a Lancia Delta in Alitalia colors, a Porsche 911 in Rothmans livery, a Renault-Alpine in classic blue, a Rolls-Royce Wraith tribute to the Jules cologne Corniche Coupe, and a relatively modern-looking VW Touran. So far, the favorite around the office is the incredible Mercedes-Benz S-Class that is an homage to the wonderful 300 SEL 6.8 AMG "Red Pig" that essentially put AMG on the map. Check out the gallery above and see which one you like the best. Related Video:

The Scaldarsi Emperor I is a Mercedes-Maybach S600 taken to 11 on the bad-taste scale

Thu, Aug 18 2016

The custom car world is filled with vehicles designed by people that don't know when to quit. The Scaldarsi Emperor I, shown here in all its awful rose-gold glory, appears to have been designed by an enthusiast of the KFC Double Down. It's a hideous creation and we can't let it pass without saying so. We also can't look away. Scaldarsi's so-called "artists" have thoroughly reworked what was a perfectly wonderful Mercedes-Maybach S600. In addition to the 24-karat rose gold accents, the company has crafted a new front fascia and modified the side and rear treatments. Inside, the general S600 shape remains, but new leather and wood cover nearly every surface. Your insane imagination will not be tamed, as there are 24 colors for the leather, 24 types of animal hides, 78 types of wood, and 16 exterior body colors available. The result, at least in the publicity shots, is a mix of awkward textures and seats that look like a pile of colorful marshmallows. Those interested in purchasing an Emperor I can option custom-engraved champagne glasses, matching tote bags, and even an Emperor Edition Rolex watch. If the standard key fob is too common for your taste, they'll make you one custom. Watch out for that Scaldarsi logo, though – it looks mean enough to rip through your pocket and take a chunk out of your leg. We will give Scaldarsi credit for wisely letting Brabus handle the power. The Emperor I uses the 6.3-liter twin-turbocharged V12 from the Brabus Rocket 900. This 888-horsepower monster is a tuned version of the V12 AMG uses in the S65, SL65, and G65. The Emperor I has an estimated 0-60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds, which is quick enough to leave stoplights before anyone recognizes you behind the wheel. Scaldarsi is asking a mere $1.5 million for each of 10 examples being created. If you miss out on the Emperor I or are some kind of twisted completist that needs one of each, this just the first in a series of customs the company will offer. Next up is the Emperor II (a Mercedes-AMG S65 Coupe), which will be followed by the Emperor III (Bentley Bentayga), Emperor IV (Mercedes-AMG G65), and Emperor V (Bugatti Chiron). Lord help us all. 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class revealed again in 1:18 scale

Fri, 10 May 2013

There is plenty to look forward to when it comes to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but it could end up being a fairly anticlimactic reveal thanks to fully exposed spy shots, a leaked press photo and now images of a diecast version of the luxury sedan. Autoweek.nl has images showing a highly detailed 1:18 scale model of the redesigned S-Class that matches up with everything we've seen so far.
This isn't the first time a model car spoiled a new vehicle's reveal, as the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and 2013 SRT Viper were both unceremoniously revealed in toy form first. World Car Fans is reporting that the car 2014 S-Class will be officially unveiled on May 15, but at this point, all that's left to wonder about is the official on-sale date and what will be under the hood.
