Up for sale is this Pristine 2005 Mercedes-Benz ML350 AWD with the Special Edition Package. This Mercedes is immaculate and has a Metallic Silver exterior with Black leather interior. The leather seats are in great condition and they are also fully powered and heated as well.  This is a very rare option to find in these cars. This Benz just turned 136k miles and it runs and drives fantastically. This is a really nice, well maintained SUV and probably the cleanest Mercedes SUV on eBay. The drive is so powerful and responsive, its like riding in a new Mercedes.
This vehicle was very well taken cared of and it shows. This vehicle needs nothing but a new caring owner and a new home. The previous owner always maintained this vehicle top notch and  was always garaged kept by the middle-aged couple. This is also a ONE OWNER vehicle with an ABOVE AVERAGE autocheck report.
This SUV is loaded up with every possible option That could have been ordered. It has Navigation system, Bose sound system, 6 Disc CD changer, heated leather seats, special edition sport package, fog lamps, xenon headlights, glass moonroof, remote keyles entry, alarm, roof rack, running boards, rear ac controls, and all the power options that you could think of.
This car also has Thousands of dollars spent on it in maintenance recently. The owner installed a new battery, new fans, changed all the fluids, and the transmission was just professionally rebuilt less than 500 miles ago. This vehicle is ready for its new owner, just buy and drive.
This Mercedes comes with the original Mercedes flip key key. We also have all the original Special Edition floor mats, the jack and tire iron, full size spare, and first aid kit never opened. The car is complete with all its accessories.
This vehicle was very well cared for and it shows. The maintenance all appears to be current and the vehicle is reliable and runs like a dream. The car has matching Goodyear tires all around with plenty of tread remaining. We have driven it 1000 miles and it seems to be running and driving 100%. You can literally jump in this vehicle and drive it 2,000 miles back home without any problems. We changed all the motor and transmission fluids and the vehicle has good brakes, good rotors, and new windshield wiper blades.
The exterior of the vehicle is super clean. The body panels are all perfect and the paintwork in perfect shape. The paint is glossy and the vehicle looks like its only a couple of years old. The exterior is in above average condition and near mint. There is no real flaws to point out on the exterior at all. Its just a great vehicle and its looks fantastic.
The interior of the vehicle is super clean. The seats are in great condition and the leather is supple and clean. The dash and door panels are also in perfect condition and clean.  All the trimmings and other interior trims are in perfect condition. The interior is in fantastic condition in my opinion.
This vehicle has no major issues at all to mention. The only thing you will have to do is go to Mercedes and get the code for the radio. When we had the new battery installed, the radio code was lost when the power was disconnected from the old battery. The dealer supplies this code for free. I will try to do this before the new owner picks up the vehicle, but if I cannot, you will need to do that. Not a big deal at all.
This car is being sold as-is, where-is, and there is no warranties expressed or implied. If you would like to see the car and test drive it, you are more than welcome to do so. Also, feel free to ask me about the buy-it-now price. If you are located outside my local area, I will assist in any way possible in having the car shipped to you at your cost. A $500 non-refundable deposit must be made within 24 hours on the auctions end. The remaining balance must be paid in full by 3 days after the closing of the auction unless other arrangements are discussed with me in advance. I do drive this vehicle daily, so the mileage on the vehicle may be slightly higher at the end of the auction. With that being said, feel free to email, call, or text me at anytime if you have any questions or concerns.  Thanks and good luck bidding!

Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes also under diesel emissions scrutiny

Sat, Oct 10 2015

The controversy over Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal isn't limited to the US. In Europe, where diesel engines are far more popular, the issue is shining a harsh light on the NEDC emissions test. As already known, the evaluation does a poor job of reflecting real-world production of NOx, and it appears a significant number of automakers are affected. The Guardian in the UK has been reporting on real-world test results from a company called Emissions Analytics. After the latest round of checks, vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Mazda and Mitsubishi were found to generate far more NOx than they should. The newspaper also published similar results for Renault, Nissan, Hyundai, Fiat, Volvo, Jeep, Citroen, VW, and Audi. On average, the figures are about four times over the limit of producing the pollutant. Unlike VW and its defeat device, these automakers aren't actually breaking the rules. The vehicles perform up to the NEDC lab test for emissions, but those results simply aren't translated to the street. "The VW issue in the US was purely the trigger which threw light on a slightly different problem in the EU - widespread legal over-emissions," Nick Molden from Emissions Analytics said to The Guardian. A big fight to decide the future of this issue appears to be on the horizon. Automakers claim that they can't meet the next round of tightening emissions regulations and are asking for compromises. Although, spokespeople for Mercedes and Honda told The Guardian that the brands would be in favor of the stricter rules. Meanwhile, some European governments began backtracking their support of diesels well before this scandal came to light. The added scrutiny certain hasn't helped the future of the oil-burner. Gordon Murray, F1-driven production and .. the Pontiac Fiero

Tue, Oct 31 2017

Gordon Murray's design and engineering chops are unquestionable. But does his carmaking approach owe something to the short-lived Pontiac Fiero, a scrappy little car program that emerged from GM against serious resistance? Murray had a Formula One career that ran from 1969 to 1991, with stints at Brabham ('69 to '86) and McLaren ('87-'91), that resulted in several shelves' worth of trophies for the cars he was instrumental in designing. He moved on to McLaren Cars, the consumer side of things, where, during his tenure from 1991 to 2004, he helped design the McLaren F1 and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, two cars that took learnings from his two decades in Formula One. What do all of these cars have in common? Three things: They are light. They were built in limited numbers. And they were (and are) exceedingly expensive—when the McLaren F1 debuted in 1994, it stickered at $815,000. Murray went on to establish Gordon Murray Design in 2007. GMD has created some interesting concept vehicles, such as the diminutive T.25 city car (94.5 inches long, 51.1 inches wide and 55.1 inches high), and the OX, a lightweight truck for the developing world that packs like an IKEA shelf and is working toward realization through a worthy crowdfunding campaign established by the Global Vehicle Trust. Now he has created a vehicle manufacturing company, Gordon Murray Automotive, that will use manufacturing methods that he developed under the moniker "iStream." Unlike a unibody, there are the "iFrame," a cage-like construction made with metallic components, and the "iPanels," which are composite. The panels aren't simply a decorative skin; they actually provide structure to the vehicle. Presumably this has something of the F1 monocoque about it. Going back to the three elements, (1) this arrangement results in a vehicle that can be comparatively light; (2) Murray has indicated that his manufacturing company will be doing limited-run production; and (3) to launch Gordon Murray Automotive they are going to be building a flagship model, about which Murray said, "With our first new car, we will demonstrate a return to the design and engineering principles that have made the McLaren F1 such an icon." Which seems to imply that it will be on the pricey side. According to the company's verbiage, "iStream forges an entirely new production method that defies conventionality with its Formula One-derived construction and materials technologies." It also sounds a whole lot like ...

Automakers face reality of EVs' cost — to jobs, and their bottom line

Tue, Sep 12 2017

Related: We obsessively covered the Frankfurt Motor Show — here's our complete coverage FRANKFURT, Germany — European car bosses gathering for the Frankfurt auto show are beginning to address the realities of mass vehicle electrification, and its consequences for jobs and profit, their minds focused by government pledges to outlaw the combustion engine. As the latest such announcement by China added momentum to a push for zero-emissions motoring, Daimler, Volkswagen and PSA Group gave details about their electric programs that could give policymakers some pause. Planned electric Mercedes models will initially be just half as profitable as conventional alternatives, Daimler warned — forcing the group to find savings by outsourcing more component manufacturing, which may in turn threaten German jobs. "In-house production is almost irrelevant to the consumer," Daimler boss Dieter Zetsche told reporters on the eve of the Frankfurt Motor Show, in the midst of a German election campaign in which automotive jobs have loomed large. The company set a target of saving 4 billion euros ($4.8 billion) by 2025 to help fund the cost of its electric cars. "Daimler is the first company to state explicitly how much electric vehicles are going to hurt margins," said Bernstein analyst Max Warburton. "It was brave to go first — but of course it won't be the last." Volkswagen, for its part, said it was seeking new global supplier contracts to source 50 billion euros ($60 billion) of electric car content including batteries, which are not yet manufactured competitively in Europe. "A company like Volkswagen must lead, not follow," Chief Executive Matthias Mueller told reporters. VW diesel emissions-cheating exposed by U.S. regulators in 2015 triggered global public outrage, dozens more investigations into test-rigging by the wider industry and a push by some lawmakers to ban diesel and eventually all engines. TIGHTENING NOOSE Tesla shares jumped nearly 6 percent on Monday after a Chinese minister said it was a question of when, not if, Beijing bans fossil-fuel cars, tightening the noose around the combustion engine. France and Britain have promised its outright abolition by 2040. But PSA, the maker of Peugeots and Citroens, said it was concerned about the risks if consumers were left behind in the rush, and a new generation of battery cars does not sell.
